So he was doing something completely legal.

He also avoided charges by not shooting someone with it.

But avoiding charges because he didn't shoot someone.

And the excuse that the rifle is needed for his own protection...protection from what? I’ve lived in Gainesville for years and have never felt the need to ride around with a gun in my car ‘for protection.’

Yes, but you never know when there's going to be a mass shooting and you need to rush in and save everyone Rambo style.

I think all Gator football players should carry loaded AR-15s at all times.

Yeah... I like ragging on UF as much as the next Dawg but this one just doesn't connect for me.

It's not terribly dissimilar to saying:

UF Football player was pulled over for DUI but avoided charges because he had not consumed any alcohol or illicit substances.

It's a non-story other than "UF player has loaded AR." You may disagree over whether the kid should be driving around with one or not, but it's not really anything to get too bent out of shape over still.

Having the rifle isn't a big deal - it's the boneheaded move to elude police when first getting lit up. Good way to end up getting shot.

Once again, nobody finds it odd that a college football player is driving around with a loaded AR 15 in his car? In light of all the other dumb shite Florida has been up to, this doesn’t seem interesting at all? Just gonna “muh guns” our way past this?

There’s a difference between bent out of shape and poking fun at Florida, fib.

The video opens with one GDP officer telling Toney that he "can't keep an AR in the car like that."

Why not? I mean, if he isn't breaking the law, why can't he?

Face it, Florida as a state is a different world. It's like the rest of the country flushes and Florida is the septic tank. And the Gators, Noles, Canes recruit out of that. I immediately assume Florida when I hear about some outrageous activity without knowing the origin. Then Mac came on board and started actively looking for the tremendous but uncontrollable out of state athletes that Georgia, Auburn, Alabama and LSU passed on for character reasons. And that's hard to do, get passed on for something minor like character in the SEC. And he reaped what he sowed it appears. There are great, great people in Florida but it is also a great runaway place for people too.

Can ya'll stop being little pussy bitches? When I was in high school dudes drove around with shotgun/rifles in racks. It's legal, no charges have been filed in any case.

Move back down south.

It's not that... it's the way you presented it.

I'm not now, nor will I ever be, a "muh guns" type of poster. I just felt like you misrepresented the reason to poke fun by saying charges wouldn't be pressed because it wasn't contained...

There's nothing even remotely illegal about it so why is it questionable?
