I mean, LSU definitely would because they let Les Miles do it for years and they actually won a lot of games. He just needed that extra boost of 'something' and it never transpired. It happens... Rich Rod at Michigan, Frost at Nebraska, etc. But Florida was never one for the tough-nose style Napier preaches. I think he would've had a much better career at LSU or Alabama.

Anyway, Kiffin would actually be a great fit for UF. You should pay whatever it takes to land him.

that’s the key phrase. Maybe I should’ve emphasized that no other AD would be spineless enough to let Billy call plays after year 3 going 19-19, mostl likely not even after year 2 with an 11-14 record.

the UAA would never hire kiffin because some Disney Gator big boosters blacklisted him and they don’t like exciting coaches who score a lot of points and win a lot of games. They like boring nice guys like Billy Gaypier and Mike white
Trust me, thecaw has been advocating to hire lane kiffin since 2017 but we hired Dan Mullen instead

No. He does need a good QB coach though. He was a 5 star and had plenty of offers, so the talent is there like every other 5 star. Usually if a 5 star is not successful, it is on the coach. Not always, but most of the time. Napier has never even remotely been a good OC...I say Napier is probably to blame. If Lag played under Smart or Day etc he would look a ton better.

That's honestly insane because their only two truly successful coaches were an absolute jackass and a legit lunatic.

I mean I don't think Hernandez killed a team mate.

But it is definitely plausible.

Steve Spurrier called plays here. He did pretty well. But Nap is not even close to the offensive mind of Spurrier

that’s what I mean.

Ohio state let day call plays because he won a lot but then he gave it up

Mizzou let drink call plays and he was mediocre then he gave it up and Mizzou is rolling now

The sure sign that a coach is getting fired is when his own fanbase starts using the derogatory nicknames that other conference foes invented.

When the hogs started calling Brett Bielema "Bert," it was over. Every single Florida fan has made the shift to Sunbelt Billy, Gaypier, etc. Only a matter of time.
