It sucks having to move a game away from your home field. But they have to get the game in somehow. I think the Superdome would be a possible location. But apparently they have not been contacted yet.

I don't really care one way or the other, as long as everyone is safe, but...

If LSU cant get in then Florida cant get out and if they get out when can they get back in.

I find it hard to believe anyone living near the Gulf Coast could be this dumb.

I guess no one ever evacuates in the event of a pending hurricane?

What's worse, UF evacuating to an area that is not under a hurricane watch, or LSU travelling TO an area that is under a hurricane watch?

CLUE: People generally move AWAY from hurricanes.

Statement from UF athletics:

We expect to have an update on Saturday's football game against LSU today after 5 p.m. We will also update the status of SEC Network's show SEC Nation as soon as possible.

What are they waiting on? No chance this game can be played in Gainesville

The school is in a tough spot, they need to make a call but there is still so much uncertainty. Storms scraping nearby the state are not uncommon, so they've dealt with this situation before. It makes a huge difference that this is the western side of the storm, risk moving the game too early and then the state not feeling much impact.

When's the last time a Cat 3/4 had the eye hug the coast and dump all of that water from east side for 10 hours? I'm legit curious.

As an LSU fan, I would prefer this game to be played in Gainesville.
Last year when the USC game was moved to BR we were 5-0, LF7 had just rattled off 3 games with +200 rushing yards and was the Heisman front runner, and we were ranked top ten in the country... How many of the Tiger "faithful" showed up for the game? Like 40k. Not even half the stadium was filled which was embarrassing to say the least. There will be even less attendees if this game is moved. Might as well sell the tickets for $10 to save us from the embarrassing lack of attendance which will definitely happen if moved. (And don't give me the buh buh new life genereated with Coach O because people still won't come to the game)
All that being said, I think this game gets moved to BR. Too much risk keeping the game in Gainesville.

Gainesville is NOT going to take more of a hit than Miami.. and they haven't even decided what to do with the game in Miami... relax

It wasn't embarrassing at all. If you thought 100k were going to show up on 2 days notice, you were high. Plus the tickets were sold at our price, because LSU was gracious enough to give us the gate costs plus take up donations.

Any game that gets moved like ours was will have similar attendance. I promise you.

It's probably been a while for one this strong, the state has been unusually lucky of late.

Our LSU away weekends are filled with plans that we choose to NOT do on home game weekends. It's not like people say "oh screw it we're not going". PRIOR PLANS MAN that sometimes can't be changed.

You're not an LSU fan so your opinion on what I think is embarrassing to LSU is void.
We should have at least had 70k in the stadium for that game, would've hoped for 75-90k and would not have ever expected to have +100k at the game.
Fortunately for me I got to enjoy a great LSU win and watch the last college football game Steve Spurrier ever coached.

These games are last minute things man. If this game gets moved to tiger stadium I know a ton of people that simply can't make it this weekend on short notice. Otherwise they'd be there. Plus the students are on fall break and going home to see family. It's not gonna be close to capacity. Just the way it is.

I'll be disappointed if they move this game to Baton Rouge. No one wants to lose a home game, but losing the biggest home game on the schedule and the biggest recruiting weekend of the year sucks.

Mac sounded like he would not agree to moving the game to Baton Rouge but it may be beyond his control. Maybe they'll play in Tallahassee or Tampa. Just find a way to have it somewhere other than Baton Rouge.

3 Straight in Baton Rogue would be bullshite. Since this is an annual series we should just flip next years game to a Florida home game.

This.

I said this last night. You've got a team either coming or leaving the same place that is thought to be a threat. If LSU cant get in then Florida cant get out and if they get out when can they get back in. This isnt a flooding situation that doesnt affect the Columbia airport, this is widespread wind destruction. It's 6 of one and half a dozen of the other as far as teams and fans coming and going no matter what team.
It might be moved but it wouldn't be to baton Rouge and honestly I cant see it being moved since you still have to get Florida's team, coaches, fans, etc back INTO said areas that may be without power, closed roads, unsafe power line situations, etc.

I gotta feeling this one may not be played folks and quite honestly thats the only answer to keep everybody safe. I wouldnt fly in if I were LSU cause you may not get out even if you play. Same for Florida. I would love to see this game but sometimes you gotta put welfare above all else. Either kill it or hope the thing takes another trajectory. Other than that, its not a 100% safe situation either way and you cant take that chance. We dont need another Marshall or LSU's players and fans holing up in some arena or convention center until roads are fixed and debris cleared not to mention feeding tens of thousands of people. Nor do we need Florida fans and players sequestered in BTR with family, etc still in affected area with no way to get to them.

probably why thy're having the meeting today. if they decide to move the game, Florida can leave Gainesville earlier than Friday, before the storm hits
