I didn't have a chance to go to this year's game, but I went a few years back, and I mirror your sentiments. Everyone was generally very nice and helpful, and the game day experience and stadium atmosphere were both great.

Hahaha. I bet those Bama fans were perturbed after that heartbreaking 2005 OT loss. Up until that game we thought Shula just might be able to get us back to relevance but no y’all beat us then AU stomped us right after.
To the OP, thank you for the kind comments and I’m glad y’all were treated with respect. I’m really hoping this streak breaking win will calm down some of the nastiness that our rivalry has degenerated into. Bama - LSU can be intense as always without the ugliness. And I’m not saying it’s one sided either. Our fans aren’t innocent.

There are much better mountains in the north and eastern side of the state.
Oak mountain state park in Birmingham is nice, but I'll offer up DeSoto and Cheaha as excellent choices. The mountains around Birmingham may get to 1000-1200 feet or so elevation, but Cheaha is the highest at about 2400 feet. Much less than the mountains around Gatlinburg area for sure, but nonetheless quite nice in their own right

I loved 2005 pregame. Both teams were relatively "new money" with the success at the time, but still maybe a bit insecure. The shite talking was incredible. Totally different than 2011 when everyone knew what they had but also knew what the other team had. Way more cautious and respectful (ie boring ).
So many good times over the years up there.

I love to razz them but they are great folks irl. On the webs everyone just let’s it loose and says shite they really don’t even mean. It’s all in fun.

I live in Alabama and have been to several LSU-bama games in Tuscaloosa and this has been pretty much the norm. I went with a friend to the 05 game and we sat in the student section and even after that game I had students walk up to me and shake my hand. The sidewalk/bandwagon fans you see at the store are the worst but most likely have never been to a game.

Highest point in Louisiana is Driskill Mountain at the ear-popping elevation of 535 feet. Named for a fellow who came from Georgia shortly before the Civil War. It is located In NW Louisiana, east of Shreveport.

The real Bama fans that actually go to games are great. Unfortunately the redneck bandwagon fans give them a bad rep. Win or lose it’s a good trip.

I grew up at the foot of Rock Mountain which is the exit right after you leave I-459 and get on I-59 headed to Tuscaloosa from Birmingham. Rock Mountain is the last little bump sticking out of the ground on the Appalachian Mountain chain. It's hardly a mountain as it only rises a couple of hundred feet but it's still pretty cool. Not very far from Tuscaloosa either. Congrats on the win. You have a great team this year. Don't blow it. We'll just have to start a new streak next year.

We stayed in Birmingham and had an awesome game day experience also. All Alabama fans were friendly and gracious. Beautiful stadium, great atmosphere. Sat among Bama fans and thoroughly enjoyed watching the melt down, even if they were nice about it.

I’ve been to TTown quite a few times and their fans were very gracious hosts. Not one single problem.
I remember after the 93 When Pigs Fly game that LSU won, walking out of the game the Bama fans were congratulating us left and right...
In person, Bama fans are just like the rest of us...
