Tennessee wouldn’t play football on artificial…at least I hope not.

If turf fields are so great, why don't major league teams use them? Full time field crew blah blah blah. But if it doesn't change the game that much, why don't the bigs use them?

And grammar should be yours.

It's a statement. Not a question.

Tennessee had Turf till Vitello showed up. Vitello wanted turf and Tennessee switched.

We got outplayed at home. We haven't been good at home all year. I won't make an excuse. What will yours be if the vols don't win it?
Obviously you've never played or stepped foot on a turf field. All my players over the years that have played on both hate turf.
Keep pushing that false narrative though. It fits your alter well.

Turf is great kids where there are not resources to keep a field nice. But any respectable college program should be able to have a nice field the drains quickly. Anyone who doesn’t should be mildly embarrassed.

The turf field is the best thing about a bad ballpark in Norman right now. I hated it at first but it is a better playing field than I expected.

I get the upkeep and maintenance argument, but kids need to learn to play on natural fields, imo. They need to learn to play on fields where the hops won't always be perfect. You think the kids in the Dominican, Puerto Rico, etc got great by playing on fake grass? No, they play on shite fields with terrible equipment and can field a torn up baseball with bare hands.
I guess once you get to the college level it's a given that you can play, but there's just something about having grass and dirt for baseball. Also, turf fields get hotter than the devil in the summer.

In order for TA&M to get their field ready, they dragged out pumps. Why the need for portable pumps? Why were both left and right field water?
Drain it right instead of calling a fire truck.

Turf fields are sacrilege.
Baseball needs dirt. The balls needs dirt on it, sliding needs dirt, hit balls need grass and dirt to properly bounce/slide.
Turf is garbage. It's cheaper to maintain after a higher initial investment, that is why most schools do it.

The ball doesn’t bounce correctly on turf. That’s why I’m against it.
You wouldn’t have a basketball court where the ball bounces differently or a goal that springs every shot way off for a long rebound. You wouldn’t allow a football with a nerf tail and a whistle either.
Turf fields change the game and give the team that plays on them regularly an advantage. Albeit a small advantage at this point as most kids have played on them a decent bit considering how popular they are. But still, I stand by the ball doesn’t bounce correctly and that should matter. I realize that it doesn’t and I’m just yelling into the clouds.
