7-8 win regular season imo. If I were you, i would be estatic with an 8 win regular season.

ETA: solid analysis as usual.

I don't know about ecstatic, but that is about the most an AU fan can realistically hope for this season, so I definitely wouldn't complain.

Yeah, definitely wouldn't complain considering what yall lost and it's a rebuilding type season.

I would be disappointed with 6 wins. I would probably be a little disappointed with 7 wins, but that is actually a pretty decent season with all things being considered.

LSU 2008 was so frustrating to watch. we were a hair away from a 6 win regular season. However, I will take a shitty rebuilding season every time after a NC.

ETA: hope we have that problem again soon.

This time last year, he truely believed that Ingram was better than Bo.

He's not better, but I don't think Bo is on a far off pedestal either.

Auburn fans like to point out that Ingram has the record for the closest Heisman race to say he's one of the worst winners.

Yet who owned that honor before Ingram?

closest Heisman race
An irrelevant stat to compare the two, FWIW.

It was Bo. I remember all of that being duscussed a while back after Ingram landed the Heisman and such. Ingram was good, really good.. But when I saw highlights and games of Bo, it just made me say, "wow.." He was just such a great athlete and he could flat out fly.

I disagree, in the voter's eyes, both were barely good enough to edge out the runner up, Ingram more so than Bo.

Whether it was Chuck Long or Toby Gerhart, both came within less than 100 votes of winning the Heisman...

Different voters, different seasons, different eras, different competition and the Heisman vote doesn't really measure anything other than perception at that moment in time.

The votes that occurred by two different groups of people (while some were the same) more than 25 years apart is irrelevant to the discussion (which shouldn't even exist among reasonable people) of whether Ingram was better than Bo.

But when it comes to someone saying Ingram is the worst because he had the smallest margin, the former holder of the feat can be brought up.

The differing attributes of the eras aren't being compared to each other, each are isolated in their own generation. I'm not transplanting Bo's race to 2009, or Ingram's to 1985.

No one said that but your strawman and it is irrelevant to the topic of which is better.

Auburn's gonna take it in the pooper next year. Every team that was on last year's schedule is out for blood. Petrino and Saban will definitely not take any mercy.

Auburn will still handle Clemson cuz Dabo's a moron fo real. I will never forget him dancing around on the sidelines in 2nd quarter of last year's game like he had won the Super Bowl. Guess he was try ing to out-douche Trooper and it backfired on him.

Good work. I agree with what someone posted earlier that the Georgia game is not a for sure win.

On a side note, don't bother ever applying for a job with the Auburn Rivals or Scout websites. This post proved you'd be way too level-headed and unbiased in your analysis of the Auburn football team to be able produce the kind of material they're looking for on their websites.

Go back and read when Ingram won the Heisman, many tried to cut him down because it was the closest race ever.

Then how should it be done? Stats? 40 times? What?

If you want to argue differing factors of separate eras, one could argue that the talent level of 2009 blows 1985 out of the water.

Better technology, wider range of PEDs/supplements, advanced weight training, etc...

I think peoples argument against Ingram that year were he was hardly the best RB in the nation. And based upon stats is more like the 10th best. Many believe he was just the best player on the best team, which is somewhat how the heisman has become
