first - he's very good.'
Why would he get another year? It seems like you can play college sports as long as you want if you are willing to sue them.

This

The limits on ability to earn will eventually be determined to be antitrust violations.
Especially for players who can earn a lot in college but will not be picked in NFL.

Let's examine a hypothetical college athlete.
This athlete is making $250,000 in NIL, $40,000 in revenue sharing, and potentially has NIL opportunities for more next year, but his eligibility is over.
This athlete has a degree in accounting. If he leaves college, he can expect to earn $50,000-80,000, if he gets a good accounting job.
His ability to maintain his $290,000 year is prevented by an arbitrary rule that an athlete is only eligible for 5 years, even though there's no limit to how many years he can enroll in the college.
The athlete in this scenario can easily prove damage of $210,000-240,000 a year.
Calculate an expectation of 10 more years of production as an athlete, he can show potential damages of $2,100,000-3,400,000.

It would be smart to go pro here. Weak class, loosing your HC, OC and QC. That would be my guess regardless of if he gets another year.

Should go pro.

Too risky to come back and his stock won’t improve from what it is now.

Agreed. He’s already moved way up draft boards with his performance against Georgia & Canes. Plus, Jets, Raiders, Dolphins, Browns, Steelers & Cardinals will all be in the market for a qb. And, right now, your competition is Dante Moore, Mendoza, Nuss, Beck & Simpson.

You might be downplaying him as a player. You are comparing him to someone like Diego Pavia, but I'd compare him more to Russell Wilson. He can play!

The Russell Wilson comparison is legit. Very similar build. Hes probably a little shy of 6' tall, but has huge hands and can spin it with the best of them

“Dear sweet baby Jesus please let him go pro so he doesn’t whip our arse up and down the field again and make us eat crow” is what I’m reading in this thread.

NFL GMs can be talked into anything but he doesn't have an elite arm and is 5'10" so I suspect his grade will be 4th+. He'll likely make more at Ole Miss next year than he will in the NFL as a rookie and I doubt his stock drops any.

When the Saints QB makes in the 2.5 million range and Arch Manning makes over 7, the QB’s all of s sudden want to play ten years in college. I can’t imagine why.

It's a business my man. And that is probably the right business move right now. I know it hurts but if he leaves you will find somebody. It is the nature of college football at the moment.
