I started this topic to get the rant’s opinion on how much they think Lawrence’s draft stock or public opinion may have gone down. He’s only a sophomore but he sucks pretty bad. His receivers bail him out on the regular and I’d just LOVE to have seen an Alabama Clemson game where Venables didn’t have a whole season to prepare. After last night, all I get is he’s just basically a poor man’s Joe Burrow unless people like Kiper and McShay wanna play the system QB card

Also if that one random LSU poster from last night wants to make this a crow thread go ahead I probably deserve it. Haha.

TL is Jake Bentley in a wig. Size and arm strength with no touch. Couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn last night.

He’s good, but he certainly didn’t react well to pressure last night. It makes one wonder how he would have done against Auburn, Georgia, Florida this year. Would Clemson win those games? Very likely. Would TL have looked like a world beater? Dont’ know. If last night was an indication, he has a ways to go before he can be considered truly great.

In the limited games I’ve watched him play. I just don’t see him as the first overall pick. Maybe late first if he does not improve his accuracy.

He has elite measurables but he's not an elite QB at this time and he may never be. Time will tell.

And, everyone who knows football knew that was fool's gold and now the novices know this after last night. As long as a team has good to great CBs and a pass rush Lawrence will panic and can't hit anything down field. Bama didn't have either of those things the last time we played Clemson due to injury.

I don't think Lawrence's draft stock will fall though. But, I think it's clear that Fields is a better QB than he is.

How did they score 44 with that dude at QB. Did Alabama just get ZERO pressure on him? Seriously. He was all world until someone got in his face than he completed less than 50% of his passes.

He'll throw at the combine and NFL front offices will fall in love with 6'6 and him throwing the ball 70 yards.

Actually yes that’s correct Alabama got no pressure on him that entire night.

Go back and look at the tape. We basically had one defensive linemen. Quinnen Williams. Buggs was hurt and Raekwon was a disappointment. Terrell Lewis was out with injury and Christian Miller was injured too.

Also, they scored 44 because our weakest DB in that game was Saivion Smith who isn't playing football for anyone. LSU's weakest DB last night was Fulton and Fulton can play and will be a first or second round draft pick. There's a big talent gap between Fulton and Saivion Smith.
