Guy needs to have someone who loves him send him somewhere away from everything and reboot his mind. Scary and sad. And, of course, leads to wondering what could cause this.

Wtf is going on with that guy. At first I thought it was just him not being able to handle getting benched by Gurley. It's clear it's much much more than that now. I hope he gets help

Yeah. I've knew a guy that had a break like this and it didn't end well for him. Tre needs to be committed for serious evaluation.

Could be. Symptoms like paranoia, abnormal thought patterns, and irrational thinking usually start a little earlier (around age 18-21), but its not unheard of. I'm not sure what impact CTE and concussions can have on those who are genetically predisposed to schizophrenic and similar mental disorders, but it surely doesn't help their prognosis at all especially with his substance abuse. There are an entire range of schizo and bipolar disorders it could be though (schizotypal, schizophrenia, schizoaffective, bipolar, borderline, etc.). Hopefully he gets the help that is needed.

He took a beating in the 2013 Iron Bowl. I kept thinking that he was going to get knocked out. There were plays where looked pretty loopy getting up. But he would still pound the ball right into the teeth of the Alabama defensive line, and had a really good game iirc.

Sounds like he's gotten his bell rung a few too many times. I wondered why football players were retiring in their prime and won't let their sons play football.

Does anyone have the scoop on him at Auburn? Did anyone ever have any classes with him or meet him while out? Did he seem crazy? I don't know if this stuff can happen over night, but it's concerning.

I legit felt bad for those two that day.
Wallace actually had a few really good plays in that game. He is a good dude too.

Found this after some very brief research. Not that it confirms anything, but it means traumatic brain injury could possibly be a trigger for those genetically predisposed.
quote:
The evidence supports a risk-modifying effect of traumatic brain injury in individuals who are genetically at risk for schizophrenia, but is less supportive of traumatic brain injury as an independent risk factor for schizophrenia in individuals without such risk.

That was McCalleb, but yeah, that was a fricking hard hit

He's a running back. His brain has been hit too many times. It's part of the game, we all know it's concussions that caused it, lets not play dumb.
