Wouldn't you think it would have more to do with recruiting than development?

Actually no. Not at all. Auburn consistently recruits higher than Arkansas does, but Arkansas sends more to the NFL than Auburn does.

The only way that's possible is through rigorous development.

Either that or Bielema is some sort of savant when it comes to finding and landing under recruited players.

Probably a bit of both, actually. He is a better talent evaluator and also a better developer than Gus.

Cole Kelly for instance was a 3* kid who, IMO, will prove to be one of the best QBs to ever play at Arkansas.

Auburn

Draft picks: 14

That is not accurate

AU has had 16 Draft picks under Malzahn and another 11 who made rosters or went to fall camp this season.

Bielema has had 17 drafted

LOL, I just found a site that said 15, anyway I 'll let you have sixteen and say the Saturday Down South article was wrong. All of the sites had Arky at 22, which is still more than Auburn. Surprising, but true. We were talking about drafted players and not players in NFL camps waiting to be cut. Just tells us Gus has done more with less NFL talent doesn't it?

It is recruiting and evaluation.
An SEC head coach recruits the type of players to run their system, regardless of rankings. That is how Gus took a former SEC corner and won the SEC with him at QB.

Isn't that his only way to survive? He has to find hidden gems.. and land a big fish every now and then, that some of the big dogs were going after as well. You're starting to come around and answer your own questions.

The very moment BB takes a former SEC corner, and wins the SEC with him at QB, I'll give it some thought.

Because one on the field position justifies the entire logical thought?

C'mon man!

This is overall a good thread... Until the flaming and trolling began, then it was good again.

Gus does some amazing things with guys to fit his system. The man reason, imho that he doesn't have more drafted, is his style of play. Some of that doesn't transfer as well to the NFL as a pro system does. Logical? I think so.

He has had success, much to my chagrin!

Count the drafted players for yourself and do your own research next time so you can be more accurate. Also, the comment that started it was players in the NFL. It didn't say drafted. But yes, Drafted players is 17-16 Bert over Gus.

By the way, I didn't try to prove Auburn had more players in the NFL than Arkansas. I was just letting you know that you are a dumb arse because your data is incorrect.

Auburn

Arkansas

It isn't like Malzahn turned him into a quarterback. He played the position in high school and then at a very high level as a Juco the season before malzahn took him in.

I'm sorry, i should've been more clear.. Gus turned him into an SEC Championship-winning QB.

It wasn't my data, and I left a link showing where I got it. Arky has more players drafted than Auburn in the last five years is what it said, and it isn't even close. It is an absolute fact and the way you tried ot hide make you an absolute dumbass

Here is what he said
quote:

I also read the other day that Arkansas has sent more players to the NFL than Auburn has since Gus and Bielema took their jobs
.

So your links do not apply. He was talking about players since Gus and Bert took over.First, you count 11 players that will either be cut or be on scout teams, then you give all time stats, trying to avoid what the man said because you know it is true. Arky has produced more nfl talent than Auburn over the last five years.

Are you retarded?

I gave you two links that, since you need help on, all you need to do is count the drafted players from 2014-2017 of each school. The drafts of players Gus and Bert were HC for. Bert has had 17 and Gus has had 16. I already admitted Bert had one more than gus. I already said I provided the info to show you the data you brought here was incorrect.

I also added that Auburn has 11 other players who have played in the NFL or on pre-season rosters this NFL season. Anyone with football sense knows some will be cut. However, several of those 11 already have a year or more in the NFL. I have no doubt Arky has some as well. I just didn't provide them because I wasn't trying to prove Auburn had more.

I was showing you what a dumb arse you are and continue to double down on being.

I ask again, are you retarded? Is Alahunter punking me right now? Is there a camera filming this?

I never disputed Arky has more players drafted. But why last 5 years?

What does the 2013 draft have to do with Bert and Gus? They didn't coach them into the NFL.

I made it quite clear Arkansas had more players drafted.

Now what?

Oh I know, let's get past your deflections you keep using and remind you the data you used is incorrect. Which is how this all began for me. Can you catch up with me on that? I will wait.
