Enhanced contact tracing is not going to help us get football. Quite the opposite actually

All SEC football players have the option to opt out and keep their eligibility.
They can elect to wear these or not play.

There’s not really any rule that this is necessarily violating. I could see it being an issue if it were continued beyond this unusual season.

And if they are - and it is possible that turning off that tracking stuff really doesn't turn it all off - that doesn't make it right. Or make it right for the SEC to require the equivalent tracking on college players.

Let's dig down into this - because this "they're doing it now" line really chaps my arse. There are cameras at every intersection in every major city. They're filming us all now. So how about we install a camera on your dash - wireless linked to your insurance provider. What's the problem ? You're getting filmed already.

Or how about this line of thinking "Hey, don't like it - don't play". OK - let's say the SEC decides every ballplayer has to take a morality pledge, or start providing DNA samples, or any such other requirement. Now tell me - are there really no limits to what the SEC can require in exchange for that scholarship ?

Of course not. What we're seeing here is how some people just like the idea of mandatory tracking. Guess what - their likes won't be limited to just ball-players sooner or later.

And what part of the constitution does it violate?

The SEC/NCAA are not state actors.

Easy - and honestly, stop making it so easy. The Civil Rights Act.

Like it or not - since the 1960s - it's been established that "doing business with the public" is the equivalent of a public accommodation. Target can't make you pledge allegiance to anything as a condition of shopping. Kroger can't make you disclose your medical history to enter.

So no - just because the SEC offers a contract that the kids freely enter into - doesn't mean the SEC has unlimited power to enforce any terms they find advantageous. That's not how things work.

Frankly - that's been the big cock-up with this Covid shite. Too many Governors, Mayors, CEOs, and now Conference Commissioners - assuming powers they were never granted.

And too many people thinking - wrongly - that they had unlimited power to begin with.

This is the SEC, you come to school to play for a chance at the NFL. It's unfortunate that SEC schools also have the best looking girls and the best party atmosphere sooooo that makes it tough lol

Mullen logs into player tracking app and realizes many players regularly stop by his house while he’s at work.
