Anybody who doesn't know that Atlanta is the best city in the SEC has never spent time in Atlanta. It's not even close. Atlanta has everything. Why do you think the movie industry is migrating to Atlanta? Why do you think so many companies are moving their HQs to Atlanta? Why do you think Atlanta hosts do many major sporting events? Why do you think Atlanta has the world's busiest airport? Nashville has some good aspects, but it comes nowhere close to Atlanta. No other city in the SE does.

I do love ATL as well. Spend a lot of time there.

I went homer for number 4 because I live there and it is a great place to raise kids and work. If you can't find a job in Huntsville, you aren't gonna find one anywhere. One of the things I love about HSV as well is that I can be in Nashville or Birmingham in an hour and a half, be in ATL or Memphis in about 4 hours, and be on the beach in about 6 hours.

Lighten up, Francis. Nashville is a great city, just being overrun with hipsters and has NYC priced beer. Had nothing to do with what "Dr. King died for".

Nashville's not my ville du jour when it comes to current Southern/SEC cities, but you can certainly get a cheap beer there. The irony in my post was that Dr. King died in the other city in Tennessee and that social justice was carried out quite heavily in places like Montgomery, Selma, New Orleans, Memphis, Little Rock, etc., in lieu of Nashville. Your issue with Nashville would more likely be summed up by the idea that Nashville is gilded in plastic much like Los Angeles. Cities breed intellectual hypocrisy and plenty of other issues related to hipsterdom, but it's not like you don't find hipsters in Fayetteville, Oxford, Starkville, Knoxville, Athens, Columbia, other Columbia, Athens again, Tuscaloosa, Red Stick, Auburn, Lexington, Gainesville, College Station, Baton Rouge, and absolutely Nashville. It's not like the current collegiate-based countercultural movements are much different than what's been there for over 50 years or anything

WTF?

Isn't Orleans the city where the SJWs made them take down the Confederate statues?

Isn't Atlanta the city that is spending tons of money to paint the crosswalks like rainbows to appease the LGBQRXTPK community?

Sounds like you have no idea what you're talking about. It's almost like you've never been to Nashville

New Orleans is the best by far to visit. I wouldn't want to live there unless I was extremely wealthy, but just as a road trip, New Orleans is hands down the best city in the south
Food, French Quarter, WW2 Museum, Aquarium of the America's, Audubon Zoo and more Food.

Just don't venture off the beaten path very far or you'll wind up partying with some of the resident Ghosticiz.

Great place to visit but you don't want to live there for sure.

According to Forbes, it's Fayetteville, Arkansas.

It's pretty nice here. I think it's a little boring. They music scene sucks. But my standards are pretty high. It's definitely been treating me very well. If I were married with kids, it'd be a great place by I'd be willing to settle in.

The Ozarks are beautiful. The Buffalo River, 1.5 hours away, is one of the most beautiful rivers I've ever paddled. Beaver Lake is great. The views aren't as dramatic as the Appalachians or Rockies, but there are some great spots.

I'm really looking forward to football season at this point. I want to get drunk and see how the Hawgs get down compared to all the other sec cities I've been tailgated. It's just a shame our game is in Tuscaloosa this year.

It's my favorite city. But I'm also a musician. It's definitely not for everyone, but I love it.

My plan is to move back to Nola. The only thing that will stop me from being there in 2018, is if I land a job I'm looking at in Asheville, NC. I like Nola better for music and partying. But Asheville has a good music scene, and some of the best outdoors activities in the world. So if I can move back there again, making the money I am now, I'd be a fool not to take it. But if my company tries sending me to Charlotte or elsewhere, I'll be back in the bayou before Mardi Gras.

Mobile and Nashville are probably the 2 best all-around city in the southeast. I give Nashville the edge though bc I think they probably have the better music scene.

I have a lot of love for Mobile. It's definitely underrated. But it's not one of the best. And I've been going to and involved in Mobile Mardi Gras all my life. I'd have a spot riding in Fat Tuesday there. But I turned down my Dad's spot because I was too involved in parades in Nola.

Can't remember what organization did the ranking, but Charleston, SC was just ranked the #1 city in the US and Canada and the #2 city in the world. While it is a beautiful city with a very rich history, I think Savannah, Ga could easily make an argument here.

ETA: It was by Travel & Leisure.
