That bothers me to no end. You shouldn't change the scale on which a perfect grade can be judged. Whoever it was that got that 4.4 could look like a total dumbass in a few years whenever they allow a 5.0

I was on admissions committee at a JUCO in the mid 1990s.
They gave us an equivalency chart regarding the ACT... It compared scores before and after like 1989.
The old ACT had scores that were were lower numerically but equivalent to the newer version. They equivocated at about a score of 29... so from 29 to 36 they were the same. But if you got a 27 on the old test... it was equivalent to a 28 on the new one. A 22 on the old one was about a 24 on the new one.
But it is clear that the main reason that scores are higher now is the prep work that is now available and the fact that kids routinely take it multiple times.

I am glad Georgia is building its resume for B1G membership.

What's this data for the football team? While we're on the subject, what's their arrest records look like?

UF class of 2030
GPA: 4.5-4.7
SAT: 1420-1520
ACT: 32-35
Acceptance rate: 18.9% (18,169 out of 96,011 applications)
If kids are dead set on going to college right out of HS they should do their first 2 years at a community college and transfer.

It’s basically free to apply to colleges now so that explains falling acceptance rate percentages. Everyone applies to a bunch of colleges hoping for a long shot acceptance
I applied to 4 colleges in the early 2000s. My nephew just graduated and applied to about 100 cause why not?
