Nick Saban and everyone else...
Posted on 12/26/09 at 8:05 pm to NorthshoreTiger76
What's with all of the Les Miles threads?
Posted on 12/26/09 at 8:05 pm to NorthshoreTiger76
I think Richt is a good coach. I know he's never won the big one but he's solid.

Les is terrible. it's Saban then whoever UF hires is #2

This. Saban is clearly the best coach in the SEC.

spurrier? Hahahahaha
richt? Biggest underachiever in the sec.
johnson? nope
petrino? Mallet makes him look good eh? Nope.
mullen? nah
shitstick?? nope
saban?? yeah.
brooks? nope.
Looks to me like miles is second best? Looks like we are stuck with him

I think that is the point

Could there be a bigger gap between the #1 and #2 HC in any other conference? I can't think of one at the moment.

Well Miles won the big one but he also lost 2 small ones that year. Plus he has been a train wreck the last 2 years.
Spurrier has won the big one but he hasn't won anything in a long time.
Petrino was really good at a non-BCS school.
I was just giving Richt the nod because he's been good over a long period in the SEC.
Guys like Brooks and Johnson are hard to judge because they haven't been at the power schools. Maybe one of them is number 2.

1. Saban
Huge Gap
2. Miles
Pretty Big Gap
3. Richt
4. Spurrier
5. Nutt/Petrino
7. Everybody else
Until somebody has more hardware than Miles...he's second. not even an argument except for Spurrier. And his accomplishments were too long ago in my book

Oh it's an argument. He was the poster boy for poor clock management in the media this year. He's the butt of constant jokes. It's definately an argument.
