Rankings
3 SEC teams in top 5. UGA should have fired Richt a while ago.

Meaning UGA has had a top 10 recruiting class every year from '02-'11.

I honestly didn't think I'd see our name in the top 25.

Auburn at #8.
Jetgate.
Duck hunting.
36-0.
Three things that make me wonder what could have been for our program.
Oh well, I guess things turned out for the best.

One thing Georgia hasn't had is that real breakthrough number one class that you see LSU, Florida, and Bama with. Overall, we've been solid at recruiting, and it's a cool story from these bros that we're ranked number 2 for the decade. But if you look at the actual recruiting and how that's played out, I don't believes it.
Not for a second.
Not for a second.

It's called player development. Usually that falls on the coaching staff.

How does Richt still have his job? Because he is a good guy? Really? How does that translate into the moral character of his players? Not at all. Can't win, can't control a program, can't develop players. What does he do well? Takes care of his family, his faith, his recruiting and his tanning.

Meh. While I realize Richt et al are drooling sub 70 IQ morons to most of you, there are a few variables not being considered by the blanket statement you've haphazardly thrown out.
Player development can't do anything about injuries. And UGA has had a real heller of a decade when it comes to players who came in as real talents and then either didn't produce as expected, or at all, when compared to their rankings. The most glaring problem has been on the offensive line.
Where recruiting has been, well, offensive.
Richt et al have done a pretty decent job of recruiting "swagga" at skill positions on offense, but recruiting on defense and in the trenches hasn't been that great this decade - some of that their fault, some of that from circumstances outside their control.
Sturdivant and Benedict being the most recent examples.

FWIW that player development on D did fall under the command of Martinez-Jancek-Fabris for a good stretch. Seriously, they may be the most inept trio ever to coach on the same staff in the SEC
