Top 10 positive takeaways after Georgia Tech’s loss to Northern Illinois -

10. My Saturdays are freed up to mow the lawn this Fall
9. I can save $15 a month by dropping the ACC Network
8. There will be plenty of room for social distancing at home games this year, so no chance of a super spreader event at Georgia Tech games
7. We only had to pay Northern Illinois a million dollars to show us needed areas of improvement
6. We didn’t lose to East Tennessee State by 20 points
5. In a show of hospitality, we are now making all 52,000 seats available to Georgia fans for our home game with them versus the typical 30,000 allotment
4. I never liked Waffle House anyway
3. Looks like I won’t have to watch the annoying 3rd down – MONEY DOWN graphics on the jumbotron too often
2. It looks like a bowl game won’t interfere with final exams for the players this semester

And the number one positive takeaway….

1. I had kind of missed the clown show after Ringling Brothers went bankrupt anyway

Only one takeaway.

If King stops throwing picks we are easily the #2 team in the country.

Georgia and Clemson have no offense. Oklahoma almost lost to Tulane. Ohio State barely held on against Minnesota.

Alabama is the only team that is clearly better than us. Go figure.

Downvotes will be interpreted as anger about the above facts.

1. Boutte appears to be unstoppable even when entire defense keys on him.
2. The malaise that affects our entire program hasn’t affected our kicker yet.
3. Orgeron’s buyout is now one game smaller.
4. Ricks is fantastic

1. A&M is going to take its shots down the field with King.
2. Had more than 5 plays of 20+ yards, and had 12 all of last year.
3. Also had more 10+ yard plays than any team in college football this weekend
4. We can definitely out-athlete the less talented teams
5. We are insanely deep on the lines, yet freshmen five stars breaking into the depth chart
6. Only place we aren't deep is at CB - going to have problems with OM and Bama
7. We have the best RB tandem in all of CFB
8. If Devon Achane breaks into the second level it is all over but the crying
9. By the end of the year, the OL will be good, really good. And we have most of them for years
10. I feel much better about the recruits we are head to head with LSU this year

Our team looked disciplined. Very few penalties. QB actually stayed in pocket. And we threw to a tight end four times before halftime. Oline looked ok. Running backs did well, including backups.

Have not seen any of that in years.

Good list.

It takes time to rebuild, and Johnson's offensive scheme needed certain types of players...and those players are typically not a good fit for other types of offenses. Tech is in for a couple of bad years, but will improve as time goes on. You have already gotten several really good players, and it will slowly get better.

That is not true their offense is not bad their defenses are just that good and y’all are not the number two team in the country.

1. Communication on defense was solid. No one looked lost like last year.
2. Defensive line looked good
3. Running backs look dangerous for us. Malik Davis looked quick to the hole for the first time in three years.
4. Anthony Richardson is freaky
5. Grantham was better on third downs
6. Downfield blocking by receivers was good on runs
7. Gave up no big plays until garbage time. No bust in the secondary.
8. Defensive tackling was better. Not many arm tackles.
9. Carter and Moon are going to be problems for the SEC this year
10. Swamp was very full for FAU...loved it
