I'm sorry but....

Not so much that it happened, but the reaction is priceless.

When they catch "Al from Dadeville" he should totally blame his dad.

It's like the new NCAA story broke and the AU PR department said "RELEASE THE TREE TRAGEDY!"

But, hey, if the whole offseason keeps up at this pace, it will be great.

I'm picturing a Hell's Angels Bammer Gang circling the walk of champions right now

Facebook friend of mine that goes to Auburn is attending Toomer's Tree Hug. They've already got a facebook page set up.

But in all seriousness poisoning the tree is taking it too far.

Hey hey jonesy!!!!

I am sorry about your tree...

I get sort of attached to trees. I never understood why it wasn't more protected though.

Please, if there are any other LOSER fan wants to act the way of the so called Bama fan.....leave now! No one wants sorry trash like you pulling for any team! I hope your YEARS behind bars makes you miss the kind of beautiful trees you destroyed! I've not ever been an AU fan, but I have forever loved their campus, it's beautiful! It's truely a sad day for any TRUE Alabama fan. Just very sick!

The timing of this news release a few hours after Thayer's article is definitely a good PR move by Auburn.

Even though I've had so many pictures of those trees e-mailed and texted to me over the years after Iron Bowl losses and hated them, I know that 99% of true UA fans think this is disgusting. I feel sorry for AU fans about their loss. It's also inviting someone equally ignorant to reciprocate in some way. Why don't we just stick to t-shirts?
