What has changed. Teams had several weeks off for regular bowl games for decades.

This is much bettter. Before playoffs started Alabama would play December 6 or so and not until January 9 for title game. Now you get a week and a half to two weeks off after the regular season which is really needed for most of these teams

But muh finals week?!?!??

My son played in the prep classic a couple of years ago. Counting jamboree and scrimmage they played 17 games with one bye week. Major CFB looks like giant pussies with some of the shite they do.
