McElroy is a better QB than Mallett. In SEC play here are their stats:
Mallett
139-272 passing for 51%
15 TD's and 6 Int's
2189 yds
McElroy
140-234 passing for 60%
12 TD's and 3 Int's
1723 yds
McElroy had a better completion rate. Mallett had 10 of his TD's against Ga and Miss St. Mallett had double the interceptions, in only 38 more pass attempts.
you guys keep living in that fantasy world and get your stats right...How many rushing TD's did GM have?

He had 1 rushing TD on the entire season. Against North Texas. Those stats above are pure passing SEC stats.

17-24 for 291 yards and 3 TDs. That was McElroy's stat line for the Arkansas game last season. He kicked ya'lls asses up and down the field.
And Arkansas had the worst pass defense of any team in the league. So McElroy lighting us up isn't anything special. Garcia had a better game against us than McElroy. Hell, so did Joe Cox.

Malett had rushing TD's against USC-E and Auburn...You got Mallett's TD/INT wrong, so I quit comparing other stats...
Malett throws a ton more long balls than GMac, which leads to the passing percentage discrepency and he is also more of an impact player for our team

And Jevan Snead

Is there any unit/position on the Alabama team that is not #1?

yeah it says we were lacking experienced playmakers with talent...
Moving Crim to Saftey and 5* Winston at CB should improve our league low passing yards

I didn't include rushing TD's, in a passing comparison.

Impact player for a team doesn't mean shite when you're comparing QB's. McElroy is a better overall QB, when you compare the two against each other in SEC play. Maybe he shouldn't be throwing long balls, if he can't complete them or throws 2 times as many interceptions than Gmac does. Int's tend to hurt a teams chances at winning ball games.

Just pointing out that Mallett isn't the messiah that so many make him out to be. He'll be a good QB, but when you break it down and look at the stats, he's not that much better above anyone else.

McElroy deserves to be ranked 1st. The motherfricker's never lost a game! But, if my team was down two scores in the fourth quarter I'd rather have Mallet.

McElroy would have you up 3 scores in the fourth

If your argument is "Best QB", you have to take this into account

The nature of our offense is vertical so its common sense that we'll take more shots at the deep routes where he led the nation in plays over 25 yards. Mallett had one interception that could be tied to a loss and that could potentially be LSU...although he led the drive that put us ahead with less than 2 minutes

With help from a merciless D and two mutant running backs. They whooped our azz that day!

Ok.. fine. Add 2 Td's to his total and 1 to Gmac. Doesn't change the INT's or completion percentages.

Move the ball all you want, but when you have 6 SEC games, where your QB only tosses for 1 TD or less, and has a TD/INT ratio of 7 Tds to 6 Int's, then he's not being effective. Move all the ball you want, but when you turn it over and don't score, you don't help the team.
