Mike McConathy would be an excellent hire for Auburn, he is a man that could actually build their program if allowed by the AD.

Quin Snyder would be a good get. Wish we could have him back at this point.

1992–1993 Los Angeles Clippers (assistant)
1993–1999 Duke (NCAA I) (assistant)
1999–2006 Missouri (NCAA I)
2007–2010 Austin Toros (D-League)
2010–2011 Philadelphia 76ers (player development)
2011–2012 Los Angeles Lakers (assistant)
2012–2013 CSKA Moscow (Russia) (assistant)
2013–present Atlanta Hawks (assistant)

Per wiki, as a D league head coach:
quote:

In the first season, Snyder's team won the Southwest Division championship and reached the D-League Finals. In his second season, Snyder led the Toros to a 32-win season; coached in the 2009 NBA D-League All-Star Game in Phoenix; received the Dennis Johnson Coach of the Year award; and reached the D-League Semi-Finals. In his final season with the team, the Toros compiled another 32-win season - this time with more rookies than any other team in the D-League - and again reached the Semi-Finals. During his 3-year tenure in Austin, Snyder compiled more wins and guided more players to the NBA than any other coach in the D-League

That's the million dollar question. Can he do it here? I have forgotten what post season basketball is like.

U Srs?

He is a slimy snake that could sell any kid on coming to Stark-Vegas in his hey day and I'll still feel that way for all the kids he stole away from UAB and Bama whether AU even gets him or not.

He'd have AU relevant and easily competing in the SEC West inside of 3 years with his ridiculous connections in this state and nastiness against Grant and Haase on the trail.

He might not be a slam dunk hire from appearances but he could dominate at a school in this state.

I shutter at the thought of him at AU but I doubt Jacobs realizes a lot of what I just posted

That was too quick.

Dick move by the AD. But considering it's Jacobs, not surprising at all.

Literally been successful at every stop and him being such a dick will likely make him a likely candidate. Can't imagine there are going to be coaches knocking on AU's door to be in charge that aren't garbage

Howland is a damn good coach who's been the coach at UCLA and was successful there

Unless he is desperate to coach again and just take a no name or non relevant bball school (at least in this decade) he thinks could have some success and wreck shite...I don't see it happening

I will be very interested to see who Jacobs hires

he'd improve them, relevant would be a stretch

he's an avg to above avg coach, domination on the plains will need much more than that

I think it definitely hurts, but I don't think it's as crippling as Payne makes it sound.

Being adidas certainly doesn't do Tennessee any favors, but it beats UA.

His connections and roots in this state and Miss run DEEEEEEP man he'd out recruit Grant and Haase (who is already out recruiting Grant lol)

He'd be very dangerous at any school in this state my friend

Check all the of the under armour bball teams and see how many will make the tournament. Also see where they stand in the recruiting rankings and then ask yourself if its still a bs excuse.

Well Adidas is way ahead of Under Armour when it comes to basketball. I agree I think it's exaggerated some, but I think it's also more crippling than others would say. So somewhere in the middle. Regardless of how it affects recruiting and all, it doesn't affect fundamentals and coaching, so that can't be excused.

Maryland is the only UA school with a good basketball program, and they had to replace a legendary coach recently.

BS excuse is BS
