it is a factor, but far from THE reason barbee failed.... if he could've simply kept the players he recruited in school and on the team, we're probably a 9-9 type team... if he could've kept those guys on the team AND had the ability to actually coach basketball, we're an NCAA bubble team.

this is all on barbee... recruiting was not his downfall... it was player retention and development.

Don't you just like the classy way Ole Jay put him on the road. On the bus headed home after a loss in the SEC Tournament. Hire someone with good intentions on both sides and things don't work out - didn't have the decency or respect to handle a man who had represented your university.

This shows me API AD has little management skills. That's what his job is to manage the people in said department to the best of his ability. But, my main concern. If your brought up to treat people the way you want to be treated then the rest will take care of itself.

Thank you API, for showing how at a bad time in your program, this is not the way to handle this situation with Tony Barbee!

Typical bamatards.com transplant.

Sign up for SEC rant.
Post in nothing but Auburn threads.
Constantly use high intelligent quips such as "API," "barner," & "little brother."

He/she is too dumb to see the irony in it all.

Auburn should have already announced the hiring of Mike White as the new HC. Somebody is going to be very lucky to get him.

Mike White isn't going listen to them until his team is done with the NCAA tourney.

Where would Auburn be without you?

My guess is the same place it is right now.

Ohhhhhhh, so don't reverse the question then. Just make up an entirely random train of thought.

Where would an academic university be without another academic university? Seems like a tough question to answer. Where would Princeton be without Yale?

Would API. even be relivent?
"Relivent" in what? Can you narrow this down to a certain category?

Relevant in the USA?
Relevant in the armed forces?
Relevant in engineering?
Relevant in economic stimulation?
Relevant in agricultural stimulation?
Relevant in aeronautics?
Relevant in graduate pharmaceutical studies?
Relevant in veterinary sciences?

Or do you just mean relevant in oblong ball? I don't know. You sure seem to know a lot about "API" football. Why don't you tell us where "API" football would be without 'bama.

Basketball opening? Here is 800k
People overlook what Auburn is paying. We paid Barbee nearly 1.5 million per year. 6 year contract. He walks with roughly 9 million dollars. So another small school guy can come to Auburn, and make at worst 10-15 years worth of salary in 4 or 5 years. Sounds like a no brainer, given that every coach believes he will last well beyond the initial contract.
