Why is that important or notable to you? So you have a state-funded scholarship program that made it difficult to get into your school. Congrats?

But yes, let's troll someone because they didn't get >3.8 GPA in high school. Can we laugh at the UGA students who flunk out and end up back in Atlanta at Georgia State too? Or do you think making jokes about someone going to one state school over another is a little silly?

Because it is Auburn-Georgia week and I'm talking shite. Are you dense?

Real Talk: You should run for city council. I've never seen someone's identity so closely tied to their city.

Getting in at Tennessee is even a whole different animal now than it was when me and you were growing up.

Uh yeah without question. I could have gotten an academic scholarship with a 29 ACT and a 3.0 GPA. That's become around the median for entrance since HOPE came around in 2003-4.

When I (we) were applying to colleges, you could get into any pretty much any SEC school not named Vanderbilt by graduating high school and not completely bombing the ACT/SAT. It was kind of a joke.

And I love the older crowd using what college admissions have become to inflate their egos as if they dealt with any of that when they were applying to colleges

I'd rather jump off the top of my office building onto 6 PM traffic on 285

Yep - Georgia was a little tougher out of state, I think, but other than that everything was pretty much "will I get any money? (Vanderbilt excluded, obviously) (I also know nothing about Florida because nobody I knew applied there and I know they have some serious 90% in-state type stuff, so it may have been hard too).

Not anymore.

UGA is better if you want to go to law school. Tech is better if you want computer science or engineering. But both have higher admissions standards than Auburn, which is why all of Georgia's rejects pick Auburn (and/or Alabama) as backup schools.

UGA is better if you want in state tuition. Tech is better than UGA, Alabama, or Auburn.

This is the reality of the situation. Looking at the average incoming SAT, ACT, and GPA... Georgia is basically in line with AL and AU. Tech is obviously a different type of institution.

You’re including Vanderbilt in that statement?

Absolutely. It’s fricking college, not rocket science. People pump up college academics because it’s the only thing their poor ego has left.

I couldn't imagine someone bragging about where they went to undergrad past the age of 25

Carefully read every post I have made in this thread. I have not once referenced US News or any other rankings. The only thing I have repeatedly, over and over, referenced, is that UGA has higher admission standards than Auburn.

Not one single rebuttal.

Give us the admission standards for both? Double digit difference? What is the out-of-pocket money for each student? That might tell you something. How many UGA students are a result of the Hope Scholarship ?
