Congrats on taking what is 8 games played so far and making a case that only 1 of them is important.

Alabama’s wins:

4-4 Florida
4-4 Miami
5-3 State
6-2 Ole Miss
4-4 Tennessee
Mercer
Southern Miss

What a murderers row...

win". In fact, even if Alabama was undefeated at this point, won the SEC West - Alabama would still not have a signature win. The only chance Alabama has at such a win is if/when they play Georgia.

The SEC isn’t very good this year. This is also how you likely still talk about the Big 10

3 point win at home against a team that played it's worse game of the year.

You literally won the game on a last play field goal.

The playoff committee rankings are about getting the right teams in the playoff - not providing any sort of objective ranking. No one thinks Alabama should be #2 given the current state of the season. That’s not even up for discussion.

Your comparison was about jerseys and, consequently, brand recognition - an illogical comparison here as Alabama’s reputation that gets them constantly shoved in the playoff picture is a result of their high-performing head coach that they have had for a long arse time.

You put an undefeated Notre Dame in the playoffs and they are likely to just get embarrassed in the first game. Saban is no stranger to losing in the final, but a 1 loss Bama is statistically more likely to perform in the playoffs than any team out there.

Wake me up when you're not an idiot who thinks records are a good measure of team strength.

Btw, these are the SoS rankings:

#19 Alabama
#35 Georgia
#53 Michigan St
#72 Ohio St
#101 Cincinati

Just because LSU is a shitty bottom dweller again doesn't mean everyone else sucks.

Which you don’t do by putting on primetime games that are over by the end of the first quarter.

For example, Notre Dame has a huge, widespread following, but is constantly snubbed when push comes to shove. Brand recognition only goes so far.

Clemson is a no name program with a fanbase that is worth nothing to advertisers, but Dabo knows how to coast through the season and show up to win in the playoffs, so they constantly get in.

Sure. But the BCS didn't kick the AP out. The AP threatened to sue the BCS for trademark infringement.

Yep, it shows the results of games don’t even matter for some teams. It’s a rigged beauty contest. What a shitty way to run a sport.

There was no split title in 2003. LSU won the BCS which was the agreed upon format for all schools.

Auburn must have a lot of seasons they don’t win 9 games?
When was the last time Auburn strung together back to back 9 win seasons?

The fact my thread is on page 5 proves my point. Five pages of people arguing over who does or doesn’t belong in the playoff. It’s pathetic. There should be no argument, it should be decided strictly on the field and opinions should play no part.

Do NFL fans argue over who made the playoffs? How about NBA or MLB? Hell, even FCS can do it. Meanwhile in FBS we are still arguing just as we’ve done for decades.

The fact it's on page 5 doesn't prove a damn thing. How absurd.

So you think the NFL which has 32 teams playing 17 games in the regular season, teams from their own division twice is comparable to college football which has like 130 teams, a 12 game schedule and nobody plays the same team twice.

Not to mention that the NFL teams are all pretty similiar in strength, as would be if college football was only the top32. Where as in college football there are teams which never play tough teams, or at best do so 1 game out of 12.

They aren't even remotely comparable and that you think they are really just highlights how much you don't understand college football.

It's week 9 noob. By the time the playoffs come around it's going to be like every other year where the top4 teams are obvious.

It's like it's the first season for some of you.

(because they played already)

The best team does not always win.........but nobody, and I mean nobody, should get a pass for on field performance.

Meanwhile, back in not butthurt because you're a shitty Auburn fan - everyone else is looking at the entire body of work,

Go frick yourself. I don’t understand college football? I’ve followed college football for 40 years. And a playoff, a real playoff, could work. Just because you’re too dim witted to see it doesn’t mean shite.

Stick to Tanks and Toes. The committee doesn't let an easy schedule carry much weight.
