Tarleton State Head Basketball Coach

You joke but as long as he didn't recruit any high level players and the AD had his back, he would do very well at UGA

with all the basketball talent within the state of Georgia the right coach could get UGA turned around quick.

Matt McMahon would be my vote now that WF locked down Forbes.

Didn't know exactly how good he'd be but I would have never guessed the Crean era at UGA would be a flaming disaster.

I was really excited when we made the hire. I'm baffled. I thought at worst he'd have moderate success with trips to the tournament. His level of failure is beyond comprehension.

Wes Flanigan is rumored to be looking hard to make a move for a head coach spot after Auburn’s season. If I was UGA I would give him a very serious look.

I miss Tubby Smith. It was so much fun to watch basketball when he was our coach. That Sweet Sixteen game against Syracuse, although a loss, was such a blast to watch. We haven't been the same since he left for Lexington. That seems like 8 million years ago.

If Crean had been able to do anything at UGA close to what he did at Indiana, two conference titles and three Sweet Sixteens, then UGA would be ready to lock him up for life.

Crean’s “failure” at Indiana would have been historical success at UGA. I don’t think any of us anticipated that he would take the historically mediocre basketball program at UGA and sink it to the levels that even us UGA fans, who have watched terrible teams over the years, could not imagine.

No disrespect to South Carolina, but if UGA knew that was going to be the case, they would have never had hired him.

he did win at indiana, the problem is he was "only" getting them to sweet 16s whereas they thought they deserved final 4s and national titles. He also dealt with major injuries while there.

Find it Pio. I have unsuccessfully been looking for my own Crean skepticism from back in the day to bump. I might have chimed in on yours.
