I'm not sure I follow the effect on recruiting if Texas or Oklahoma were to join the SEC.
Do we not already recruit nationally?
Arguably I could see Texas A&M having a slight disadvantage over what they currently have, but even that seems minor.
Who else is it going to affect?

What I find most humorous about this is you don't realize that LSU will suffer a lot more than A&M if Texas joins. You act like this is a fair fight and the fact you have had recent football success and are a bedrock member of the SEC you are protected.
There is one set of rules for Texas and one set for everyone else. Laugh if you want but you have no idea just how evil and powerful they are and how many ways they can hurt you. They view themselves as greater than Bama in football and looking down on Harvard academically and they have truly an endless checkbook at a level beyond your comprehension. They also own the media.
No one partners with Texas and ends up better off for it.

Damn y'all are dramatic when it comes to UT.
The SEC isn't a conference filled with smaller texas schools. They won't be able to throw their weight around as easy in the SEC as they can in the Big 12.
They came to us with their hands out, not the other way around.
