ESPN Stats & Info ?@ESPNStatsInfo
#Alabama is 6th AP No. 1 team to face top 15 team in 3+ straight wks. Of previous 5, only 3 won all those games: '43 ND, '45 Army, '01 Miami
3 big games in a row is not an easy task to stay focused for. This team will have certainly been tested, both in a comeback scenario and in resiliency after Saturday.

Mississippi State didn't deserve their ranking. Game was in Bryant Denny.
You beat a very good LSU team on the road in Death Valley. You were not the better team that night. But Champion caliber teams find a way to win.
Texas A&M has played many teams tough this year. They were a lot better then expected. Game also is in Bryant Denny.
Oh and LSU's last 5 weeks..
At Florida
Home vs South Carolina
Home vs Texas A&M
Bye
Home vs Alabama
Now Mississippi State since you claim them to be tough.
Tough Schedule as well.

3 divisional games in a row that you couldn't possibly weasel out of.
Very impressive scheduling.
Got it.

We still have not played anybody.

This shite is getting old.
They had a 14-3 lead at halftime. Who was the better team in the 1st half? LSU? Seriously?
Yes, we moved the ball virtually at will for much of the 2nd half.
The 2nd half.
And yet they still stopped two of our 2nd half drives inside their 30. Which, contrary to popular belief, is precisely why we lost the game. We finish one of those drives off and we win. Their defense stopped those drives and preserved a chance for their offense to win. We left that door open and they stormed right through it.
But stop with the bullshite argument that we were the "better team". 28 minutes (I'm being generous) of the 2nd half does not an entire game make.

The game was sloppily played at times and brilliantly played at times. For both teams.

LSU lost two of their tough games, while Bama has not lost. See the difference?

I agree with all of that.

LSU and who?
Bama has had one legit game, everyone knew state was way over ranked. Weak schedule still stands. Sorry DWI

quote:LSU and Texas A&M are legitimate competition for Alabama, but Mississippi State rose to the top of the rankings because they played a cupcake schedule like always. They've (State) been manhandled by Texas A&M and Alabama in consecutive weeks. Before them, their hardest game was against a 4-5 Tennessee team.
3 big games in a row is not an easy task to stay focused for
I think it's best to leave them out of the conversation...

Perhaps so.
That doesn't change the fact that a weak schedule is a reflection on the quality of our opponents, not the quality of our team.

Personally, I think the OP is being a little insecure.
So long as you beat everyone on your schedule, there's nothing more that you can do.
The schedule is spilled milk at this point.
I look forward to the day when we have a 4 team playoff if for no other reason that an undefeated SEC team can never get shut out of the national title game again (Auburn 2004).

LSU now has two losses, so using logic consistently on the rant would indicate that they suck too. I do not agree or support this but I do not make the rules.
