will say. Clemson fans have a weird inflated sense of worth when it comes to their view of the town of Clemson.

There is nothing special about the town. Downtown covers about a 2 mile stretch with bars, restaurants, and gift shops.

what evidence do you have that the lake and Blue Ridge are not a factor?

why do you think players from other states like Florida come to Clemson.

How do you explain Knoxville then. Their campus is ugly as hell and city blows. Worst visiting fan experience I've ever had.

Dont spew random shite about the scenery. That is 100 percent not why our football programs differ.

Lake Murray is like 15 min from Campus as well, if recruits REALLY base their college decision on the proximity to the nearest body of water and Muschamp brings the players out there for cookouts all the time.

lot of people think Knoxville is cool. If a recruit is more of an urban person, they probably won't have a problem with UT's campus.

Tenn hasn't been recruiting well though. lol

You should use Lake Murray to recruit. That's a great lake. It looks Muschamp has been getting some good players lately. lol

you made that comment in response to a person who said I had an inflated sense of worth regarding Clemson...

i'm not sure why people can't concede that being next to a lake and near the Blue Ridge is a pretty good selling point. You don't have to like Clemson to admit that.

I never heard any Clemson fans talk up the town itself.

It does have plenty of bars though and I think the number of restaurants has tripled in the last 20 years.

how many have you gone to?

How do you decide which bars are better?

The cool thing about downtown Clemson is it right next to campus and if you go down there as a student, you most likely will see other people that you know.

He thinks having laws against illegal immigration is similar to segregation. Pretty much every country including Mexico has tougher immigration laws than the US but he will say immigration laws are racist.

False... Policies currently employed by this administration to use children and corresponding immigration processing as chits (I find this most ironic given that they like to refer to children being used as chits for immigrants looking to enter the country) in a political battle are similar to using race relations as a political power tool... All coming from a president who has multiple brands in his portfolio that have continually leveraged immigrant workers for their own needs and specifically have sought exemptions to the limits of what is allowed on that front.

quote:

He also doesn't mention how illegal immigration takes jobs from Americans to include minorities and gays and suppresses wages.

There are currently shortages of laborers for jobs that have traditionally been filled by migrant workers... Plenty of farmers are willing to pay if you're hard up for work... I imagine that golf courses will be next. What you fail to mention is that most of the work shortage for younger individuals entering the workforce are more of a result of the aging workforce and the later retirement age as benefits packages and pension programs have been sliced over time. The mass of competition for these quality positions has led to salary suppression (supply/demand), not to mention the decrease in valuation of technical/trade programs and the skills learned there.

If you want to point to agricultural and part-time/contract construction work as something that have been impacted by immigration, fair enough... but the numbers don't actually support that immigrants are the root cause for employment/wage issues on a mass scale across industries.

quote:

He doesn't mention the Americans raped and/or killed by illegal immigrants, to include black victims.

"Arrest, sentencing, and incarceration rates have been changing in the late the 20th and early 21st centuries. Since reaching an all-time high in both violent and property crime in the mid-1990s, the number and rate of violent and property crime in the United States have been steadily declining (Federal Bureau of Investigation, 2015a), while the incarceration rate, until very recently, had been increasing. According to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Report (2015), arrests decreased 20% between 2005 and 2015; between 2013 and 2014, violent crime arrests decreased 0.2%, and property crime arrests decreased 4.3%. In 2014, more offenders were arrested for drug crimes (1,561,231) than property crimes (1,553,980) and violent crimes (498,666) (Federal Bureau of Investigation, 2015b). The states with the highest violent and property crime rates neither are the most populous nor house the largest number of immigrants. In 2015, the states with the highest reported crime rates were: Louisiana, Alabama, Alaska, Tennessee, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Arkansas, Delaware, and Missouri (Frohlich, Stebbins, & Sauter, 2015). In the United States, places with the largest increases in population have been associated with the largest decreases in crime rates in the past decade. The majority of arrestees in 2014 were white (69%) and male (73%) (Federal Bureau of Investigation, 2015c). In sampled U.S. cities, Stowell, Messner, McGeever, and Raffalovich (2009) found that as the foreign-born, immigrant population in the cities went up, the violent crime rate went down (Figure 2)."

And yet you continue to make an arse of yourself here... I'll continue to vote based on what I believe is most important and who I think best represents my interests... labels be fricked.

quote:

He can't point to any Republican segregation laws despite asserting white racists switched to the GOP so he has to talk about gay marriage and immigration.

So because segregation was made illegal with the CRA, because I can't find any segregation laws the "switch" didn't happen... Ok dipshit.. If you're obtuse enough to not be able to connect the dots and see similarities, then you're simply letting everyone know what to make of your opinion.

quote:

Being against gay marriage doesn't mean a person is a racist. that's like saying somebody against pre-marital sex must be racist.

No one said it did... solid straw man though...

Blaming immigrants for perceived shortcomings *is* a form of racism... particularly when it's done irrelevant to someone's legal or illegal status as an immigrant.

quote:

Moreover, Obama, CLintons, etc have opposed gay marriage in the past. Voters in very blue states like California and Mass voted against gay marriage when it was an issue on the ballot.

Personally, I've always believed that the government shouldn't be in the business of sanctioning/licensing marriages to begin with... neither gay nor straight... that would allow individual religious centers to determine whether they want to acknowledge a union as a marriage or not... Unfortunately, as a country, we defer to marriage as the legal basis for a lot of very important rights... that's not getting undone, so you can't at that point then prevent other legal citizens from the same degree of rights as another with no basis...

quote:

There are also a lot of REpublicans who have no problem with gay marriage. That issue is related to religion and age more than political party.

"a lot"... What percentage would you say of republicans who *publicly* have indicated that they have no problem with and/or support gay marriage? Keep it easy... at the national level...

quote:

As far as I knnow, GOP has not tried to ban gay people from schools, voting, etc. Nobody is trying to make them ride at the back of the bus.

Nope... just limit access to things like healthcare from doctors who "don't approve"...

quote:

Trump actually appointed an openly gay man to be ambassador of Germany and Democrats held up his confirmation for a year.

This is almost as good as the other valuable party line "Trump pardoned a black person... he's not racist".

Wake up sheep (fricker)...

Well, I’ve known a decent number of football players in my life and not a single one would seriously list scenery or natural landscape as a factor in their decision. Not a single guy I’ve ever known or talked to would ever have nor spend any kind of time swimming at the lake or hiking outdoors just because it was convenient. If they did, it was usually at a different lake on someone else’s boat or with a group of friends at a cabin somewhere out of town. Football players don’t have time to play outside and they’re usually too tired to do anything if they did have time.

quote:

why do you think players from other states like Florida come to Clemson.

For the same reason any player leaves any state to go anywhere: opportunities on the field plus opportunities in the classroom mixed in with comfort with the coaching staff.

lol

Trump didn't just pardon black people.

He sprung 3 black college kids out of China prison. They were looking at 10 years in a labor camp.

He also got back 3 Koreans that were held hostage in N. Korea.

Trump also moved the US embassy in ISrael to Jerasulem. The KKK Nazi types are not a fan of Israel and Jews.

Black unemployment is at all time lows.

If Trump is a racist, it doesn't seem to be hurting anybody. lol

I don't think Democratic Party back in the segregation era was this cool.

Ok, well we are both speculating. Can't know why they chose Clemson without talking to them.

I know that Carman Jackson kid out of Ohio described Clemson as a 'football paradise'. I think that had something to do with the lake and scenery.

I think ESPN Magazine listed the Esso Club in Clemso as the best college sports bar in the country.

That's the one Dick Vitale and most of the sports announcers go to.
