To all the Bammers complaining about players portaling, it could be worse…

It could be worse.
Just think about all the incoming high school players that Saban lied to on the way out that he wasn’t retiring.
Yeah those high school recruits in the #2 rated class are stuck with what they didn’t sign up for.
So there is that.
To quote Monty Python, “Always look on the brighter side of life.”

Only the ones who signed early. The other ones are jumping ship with quickness.

No they're not. They can request a release and sign in February.

Oh, so it can get worse. Ouch

So the 21 enrolled can request a release?
247 shows 21 enrolled and another 4 signed LOI.

Saban lied to on the way out that he wasn’t retiring.
He said in one of his McAfee interviews recently before retiring when recruits asked him about retiring before their college career was over if they'd promise they'd be there all 3-5 years and the answer was obviously no every time so he had no need to make the same commitment.

They're screwed if their 2nd choice has already signed a guy at their position.

All the link you provided says that Noah Carter requested a release from his LOI.
Also doesn’t say in article if he is already enrolled or not.
Also gives no indication if the request for release will be granted which, bottom-line means he needs permission to leave.

Saban fricked over the 2024 Bama recruiting class. They took NIL money upfront (would need to pay it back), so now they’re stuck with Husky Harsin.

So does “request” mean you are free to go?
If a prison inmate “requests” to leave the federal penitentiary, is that typically granted?

This is a dumb statement. By your logic Saban should have given a 4 year notice.

Well, it does say "It will be granted" (right in the middle).
It does not say if he was an early enrollee.

I am guessing that the early enrollees are likely prohibited from moving but would love to know if that is or is not the case.

TAMU has gained more from the portal this year than we lost. Everyone looks at our transfers out and snickers, not realizing that in more cases than not we upgraded. Nolen and Stewart were significant losses, but we're in a better position going into 2024 than we would have been with no portal.
