It is not a career award.

the most outstanding player
glad you mentioned this.
Bamas most "outstanding " play Saturday night was probably a 6 yard run on a fake punt.
"outstanding " not always = stats.

Tell that to Troy Smith. And I'm not saying he should win it.

Yeah that interception at the goaline last year against A&M didnt put them outside of the top two of the BCS and hoping that teams in front of them lost to allow them back into it or anything.

How many games would Alabama have won this year without AJ McCarron "managing" the game? No one could have taken his place and accomplished what he has this year. Alabama has won consistently because of his talent, leadership and experience. No player has meant any more to any team. He absolutely deserves the Heisman.

Which pertained to this season only. It was clearly stated.

I don't see many Bama fans claiming he is the Heisman front runner, Alabama is a great TEAM we don't rely on one guy to win ball games. Ill take NC trophies over Heisman any year

Everyone knows JFF is the best player in CFB. Yeah people will talk about how good JFF is and will always remember him as being one of the best players of all time but AJ will be remembered as the QB that led arguably the best dynasty in the history of CFB. While JFF is unique and does things that no other QB has ever done, Jameis Winston has already taken some of the popularity away and is the new "Chosen One" in terms of the media. No one will ever take AJs glory if he wins the title again this year. He will stand alone forever.

Realistic and well deserved for AJ.

quote:Look, congrats to AJ and his career. He will have alot to hang his hat on. But what you just said is completely false. JFF, Mett, Murray, Winston etc could do the same with Bama. Once again, AJ has had a hell of a career and alot to be proud of.

AJ won the A&M game for us, easily. He made the big plays. Other than that we haven't been tested.
You compared his game-winning playmaking ability to Winston and JFF. Well, Winston has been tested zero times this year and JFF has lost every big test. AJ wins according to your criteria

Winston should have been doing the same next year at Alabama.

quote:My point is every game is a big test for JFF. He has to score 40 or more or his team will lose.
JFF has lost every big test.
ETA: For example, he had to score more than 42+ to beat Miss St and he knew that walking on to the field. When AJ walks onto the field 17 will prolly be enough and he can do that on less than 20 pass attempts

No, I am comparing the teams they play for.
If Jamies doesnt make plays against BC, they lose.
If JFF doesnt make plays against anyone, they lose them all.
AJ absolutely won the A&M game...that is why I mentoined it.
