IMO the only college athletic figures who deserve a statue on campus should be one or more of these things:
1. Deceased
2. In a College HOF
3. In a Pro HOF
4. Spent at least 10 years at the school (for an administrator or coach) and esteemed themselves at their school and on a national level.
So far Shaq is the only one at LSU. I think Y.A. Tittle, Steve Van Buren, Charlie McClendon, and Skip Bertman deserve at least a bust if not a statue. Bob Pettit, Alvin Dark and Pistol Pete also.
Of course this doesn't apply at some 'other' SEC schools. Apparently you only had to have coached 39 games.
