No, he didn't.
The refs let this play stand because "he was forced" out of bounds.

Hi Rohan, not paying attention are you? I was responding to TigerLunatik who put out a pic of that catch. It was actually one of yours that brought up that catch, and even responded to me about it. I just happened to have that gif. The funny thing is that your response is a sign of insecurity.

I think you are correct. I also think the replay got it right. But after watching that gif, I know that ref wasn't looking to see where his feet were. I don't think he even knew that he stepped out of bounds.
