Absolutely not! They are no more deserving than the other sites. Plus given how much of a pain they have been to deal with during the old playoffs, never in a million years would I make them the permanent host.

Not no but hell no. Grant Field is a nicer facility. The Rose Bowl is a DUMP. The only thing it has going for it is history. Everything about it is subpar. It must have the best press facilities ever because the CFB press raves about it but normal folks will be shocked at how shitty it is.

It seems dumb to me to have it on one side of the country every year. Omaha is atleast near the middle of the country

quote:The reason college baseball needs a permanent host is that they need it to ensure strong ticket sales for an event that lasts more than a week. That should not be an issue for the college football championship game. What we really should do is get rid of all the neutral site games except for the championship, which would save a lot of travel costs for fans.
Should the Rose Bowl be the Omaha of CFB?

It’s the home stadium
Of UCLA so in that case we
Should move the CFB game throughout all college towns ! Screw NFL stadiums

Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, and Orange Bowl should always be involved. Ditching the Rose Bowl is stupid as it is an identity of CFB.
But allowing the SEC in there should've been the priority. Not the Big Ten Pac 12.

I would share my thoughts about Joel Katt's and Josh Pate's opinions on this matter but I'd have-to-be willing to take a timeout hit and it's not worth it at the moment with the Gamecocks playing good basketball and baseball season about to start.
I'll ask the question though .... why should the State of Commiefornia reap any benefits whatsoever from college football?
Let them reap what they've sown until they totally collapse under the weight of their own anti-American commie marxist hubris.
Phuq'em.

Selfishly I say yes because I live in LA.
But it could also be in Miami every year if it was limited to one spot.
If not limited to one spot- I think it should at least be played in an outdoor stadium.

I don’t think anyone considers LA a “college football town”

here are tons of places with the same amoutn or more things to do than pasadena. The venue itself is a nightmare logistically to get in and out of and I imagin ethe vast majority of attendees aren't staying in pasadena proper.
The Rose Bowl was a great trip but having the national title game there yearly, or ANY venue yearly for that matter, is ridiculous.
Mr. Pigeon-brain.....Pasadena is but a microcosm of the great and vast Southland bka....LOS ANGELES.
Name me one -- JUST ONE -- city in the United States that has greater entertainment venues, more variety of entertainment, combined with outdoor activities that are available that has our weather and scenery to go with all those things. JUST ONE, Mr. Pigeon-brain.
Don't give me this crap about the venue and surrounding area....Pasadena is absolutely gorgeous, the stadium is beautiful, yet needs updating, yes....traffic is a reality but it's no different everywhere else around the country.
Where else in the winter time can you dress in shorts and a tank top w/flip flops, yet be only 30 minutes away from snow-capped mountains and some snow skiing along with surfing and desert camping and rat rod activities?
Wake up, WG, get outta your double-wide and see some of this world.

No. California is not college football.

I feel the same way about it as the last time this was brought up in a thread, spread it around, share the wealth among other communities and make it indoors.
The rose bowl means nothing to most college football fans anymore.

It's in a nice area, but the stadium itself is an outdated relic for sure. The stadium where the Rams and Chargers play puts it to shame in every way.

That shite is too far away for a lot of people in the south to be able to enjoy it. Having games in Dallas, Houston, New Orleans and Atlanta are a huge for a lot of fans to be able to afford to go. California is expensive as shite.
