Thoughts on Last Night and Jimbo

Arkansas. Kentucky. South Carolina. All 3 wins. All 3 sloppy offense with decent defense from the Aggies. Great defense against Kentucky. All 3 gave us a little more confidence in a team we didn't have much in from the start.
That sloppiness was a sign though. Eventually there would be a game where things didnt work out for us. I could throw shade at the refs for fricking us the first 20 mins of the game (that 1st MSU TD hit the ground, the player even reacted because he knew it wasnt a catch) but that's not what this is about.
We aren't gonna win games when we cant catch a damn pass. We aren't gonna win games where we cant protect our QB. We aren't gonna win games when the best part of our team gets sloppy (run defense). We aren't gonna win games when we allow them to convert so many 3rd downs.
We lost one we could have won. And that's not a good feeling. But we have Auburn up next in Kyle Field East. Followed by 3 games at home. I dont expect to beat LSU but we have to win the next 3 leading up to them. This is still a decent team and its Jimbos first year here. The entire state of Texas is playing like shite right now and has been for a while. Jimbo has to step up and show dominance. Otherwise its just more of the same.

I give Aggies shite but there are signs of progress. Mostly run D. In this conference if you are going to have a defensive vulnerability its better to be by air than ground. A&M actually looks decent in the defensive trench this season.
Is the expectations you need to keep in check. As you point out no Texas team is doing that well so talent wise you don’t have the potential you would like to think. The history of the program is fairly mediocre. 8-4 and occasionally better is good for A&M, specially in the SEC. Just stop pretending you are this sleeping giant. Its been proven false so many times.

You guys had your asses handed to you by a team that you thought you were going to roll over. The refs had zilch to do with that. And, yes, the first TD catch was clean.

The Clangas are a tough out at home, but Jimbo might have exposed something. Look for people in the future to make them pay for all that blitzing that they do with more tunnel screens and screens in general. Aggy hurt State pretty badly with them at times.
Also look for teams to blitz State more and force the ball out of Fitzgerald's hands.

Let them enjoy the win, they know this is the Apex for their program. This is the lone bright spot in a season they thought they'd be a challenger in the West. Poor moo state

Yeah, that poor Moo State is 7-5 all time vs you guys, has won 4 of the last 5, including 3 in a row. You guys think your program is so high and mighty just because of the dollars.
Reality is that Texas A&M is poor Moo State's bitch. Go compare both the programs since you guys joined the SEC. You would realize that you are beneath us.

A&M wouldn't have scored a TD if the officials had done their job. I never saw more blatant nonsense get missed. They let your offensive line hold like they were Alabama.
