Ha! In years where Georgia is seeded somewhere 5 through 12…. I suspect you perspective may be a wee bit different

Indiana, Georgia, Texas Tech, Ohio State. That’s it.

I tend to agree. All the teams below 6-7 are a waste of time. The fact that teams like ND are whining because they weren't included in that group is stupid.

On the contrary if anything this year screams for expanding to 16. ND, TX, Vandy all could make a run at the natty
They could and I personally would be fine with 16 as I am a fan of more football.
However, those teams wouldn't sniff a 2 team or 4 team playoff, so with it moving to 12, you just have to accept that if you didn't perceivably do enough to make a 12 team playoff, then you're just out of luck.

BYU, Vandy and Notre Dame feel screwed.

And all 4 of last year’s top seeds lost their first game.
Two of last years top 4 teams were Arizona State and Boise State with auto bids. Another was Georgia without Carson Beck.

Like in 2023 when we were dropped 5 spots for losing our only game of the year by 3 points in the SECCG?
We didn’t win when we needed to and there were other teams either undefeated (Michigan, Washington) or as good (Bama, Texas). Thats our problem, not a problem with a 4 team playoff.

I wish I could fund the video of Texas Techs coaching interview about this. He addressed all of the pitfalls from coaching changes to recruiting to finishing the playoffs by January 1-9. It was really a good well thought out plan. There no way we should be finishing football 2-3 weeks before the nincinfernece baseball season starts nuts really ludicrous if you think about it.
The honest answer is we need to go to a full NFL model and have school sponsored teams not tied to university academics. Not that players can’t go to school while playing but it will be in academic scholarship or FAFSA or however the rest of us schmuks had to complete college.

When you listen to the committee’s "logic" I don't trust their ability to include the (4) best teams.

4 spots were always good.

Change is hard isn’t it.
The 8 seed won the CFP in its very first and only year being 12 team haha.

Exactly lots of old heads clinging to an outdated post season that they convinced themselves was actually good because it was "unique"

And to think they want to go to 16.
4 was plenty. 8 would have been ok. 12 is too many.
