Can you really use rumors as the basis for with-cause? …and old rumors at that. Rumors about k Kelly’s personal life and not his behavior on campus.

It does look like Woody didn’t have the funds secured and now LSU is scrambling. Candidates who’ve been around are going to recognize trumped up bs when they see it.

Let the other schools have him. I’d rather LSU hire the next 1999 Saban than the 1999 Butch Davis. It would probably require someone leading the search with more savvy than the current leadership though.

Some of those are just people trying to be positive.

I’ll give credit to those who spotted Kelly as a bad hire early AND presented intelligent analysis for feeling that way but that rarely happens LOL. Usually it’s somebody who was a white knight for the previous coach and they’ve just got sour grapes or some other agenda or somebody trolling to get a thread with lots of responses (like this one).

AD might appeal to the control freak in him.

As a coach he would still need to have to deal with the NIL/portal stuff and I think that would be the problem.

Nobody will admit this but a big part of Saban’s success was connected to the way he got players and held onto them. Basically he cheated at recruiting better than anyone else and was willing to go farther. Hell, he was able to pull 5-star recruits who were basically NFL ready coming out of high school AND get them to stay at Alabama for five years AND even get them to sit on the bench for some of that. Gee I wonder how he did that?

However he did it, the NIL/portal broke his system. I don’t think he has an answer to that and won’t be the same without that advantage.

LOL that reporter is just speculating. The sporting news reporter’s sources are a speculating espn reporter and a couple of three star recruits who were repeating what somebody else (not Kiffin) told them. LOL what do you expect them to be told in that situation?

It’s clearly somebody throwing something at a wall and hoping it sticks (like you did). The “if” at the end certainly does matter. It’s the reporter giving himself an out in case he’s wrong.

He has a losing record as a head coach and ties to Louisiana. Obviously, he will bring us another season like 2019, because it is so common for things to work out that way.

Who wouldn’t want a proven dynasty builder as our head coach? All we need him for is a few years. That’s all it took before and the only thing that stopped us from keeping the dynasty going was Nick Saban himself coming back to college football.
