Way too early for that. That line is too high as well. I think our team will improve over the year, but it is going to be a tough first game for a new qb and rb. I think we win, but by a field goal or less.

It will drop to around 3 before game time. Vandy lost their QB and the greatest running back in their schools history. They won't be improved.

There are too many new factors for a lot of teams that could turn out to be huge or duds. At this point I think the lines are just to entice people to put down the green backs!

You might be right, but I'm not sure. The hardest thing to predict about Vandy is that Franklin's success has largely been based on Coach Johnson's recruits. CJF's recruits are now coming to the fore, and they are much more athletic. I do agree that it will be extremely hard to replace Stacey.

I like you. I'm pulling for you guys, don't get me wrong, but there's another Vandy poster or two on here that think you guys are going to be vastly superior this year compared to the last two years. I'm not saying that isn't going to happen because Franklin is a hell of a coach and has improved every year he has been at Vandy. I'm just saying it's going to be very very hard to improve.

I agree to all of that. There is a solid chance that the team could improve and the record fall next year. I think the entire 'bottom' of the SEC is strengthening quickly.
I also don't know what Franklin's recruits will be like when they are leading. Johnson had a talent for finding high character, high motor guys that would outwork their talent level. The new recruits may or may not have that quality.
That being said, my sister is an Ole Miss alumn and I wish y'all the best for every game after the first.

I'm surprised that the opening line is that high. I would have expected somewhere around -3 or -4.
