League distributed 34.8 mil to each school for 2016-2017 season. Maybe I am missing something...how is that unequal?
I don't think this is a thing anymore, but it definitely was in 2010, and was a big factor in the departure of the 4 that left. (Not this issue per se, because the numbers themselves were pretty minimal, but the mentality behind it.)

It definitely was in '10. I think the teams leaving forced ut's hand.

Every other conference would distribute that Longhorn Network money evenly too.
The amount you are talking about just includes Tier 1 and Tier 2 tv revenues. All other Power 5 conferences share the top three tiers of media revenue.

Yes it only includes Tier 1/2, but the statement was the league has unequal distribution of monies. If they don't own it (i.e. teir 3) then they can't unequally distribute it.

Those teams do own a part of that content, because Texas has to play them to have content for the network. Texas can't play themselves.
Texas has just made it so that money is not even distributed as a bribe to keep them in the conference. Everyone knows this, even them.

The reality is that pretty much all of the former SWC schools were corrupt years ago in their former conference, and they're corrupt in some capacity still to this very day. They are corrupt from the University level all the way down to the high school level. Not much has changed since the 80s in the state of TX regarding football.
Good lord, you are so full of shite.
First of all, no program in the old SWC was as dirty and corrupt as OU during the Switzer years. This includes SMU.
Second, it is a fact that any school in the SWC that started playing football the way tu played it, and beat them, immediately found themselves on probation. They were all investigated solely by the Dallas Morning News (staffed solely by graduates of what school? tu ) who turned their findings over to the NCAA Infeactions Committee, chaired by who? You guessed it, a tu law professor. And who was the "hatchet man" that gave SMU the death penalty? Dan Beebe, who Delos Dodds later installed as the XII commissioner. The entire witch hunt was a hypocritical rouse.
Third, cheating was rampant all over college football in the 1980s, but only a few select SWC schools were made examples of: SMU, UH, A&M, and TCU. Three of those schools whipped tu's arse on a regular basis in the 80's.
Fourth, not one school in the SWC was as out of control as OU or Miami in the 1980's. Why did nothing happen to them? That's right, they weren't in tu's conference.
Fifth, the reason UH was never going to be allowed in the XII, either at the onset or recently, was because tu knew they had made the mistake of letting them into the SWC in 1977. UH went on to dominate the SWC in basketball, football, and track & field for the next decade. Kicking tu's arse frequent in the process. They weren't having that again.
Sixth, Arkansas got the frick outta Dodge while they were still intact.
So Charles, get your fricking facts (and alters) straight before you splooge bullshite that ain't true.
You fricking piece of shite.

Some revenue distribution facts from 2010...

Some revenue distribution facts from 2010...
quote:
Big 12 schools share half of their television revenue equally between the 12 programs within the conference. Schools that play in more televised games receive a greater share of the other half. The last year revenue data was made public was 2007, and here's who earned how much, according to the Omaha World-Herald: 1. Texas: $10.2 million 2. Oklahoma: $9.8 million 3. Kansas: $9.24 million 4. Texas A&M: $9.22 million 5. Nebraska: $9.1 million 6. Missouri: $8.4 million 7. Texas Tech: $8.23 million 8. Kansas State: $8.21 million 9. Oklahoma State: $8.1 million 10. Colorado: $8.0 million 11. Iowa State: $7.4 million 12. Baylor: $7.1 million
And a quick reminder of Texas' greed
quote:
ESPN’s 20-year deal with Texas pays the school a minimum annual royalty that averages about $15 million, increasing over the length of the contract—thus far it’s been about $12 million a year. By comparison, the SEC Network is turning a profit, and has more royalties to pay out—but those are distributed among each school equally. So even without the 70 percent of revenue that will go to UT when (if) ESPN recoups its investment, the Longhorns are still making about twice as much each year from the Longhorn Network than any SEC program is from the SEC Network, even if the SEC Network is that much more successful overall. Texas has no incentive to wind down the Longhorn Network, or roll it into a Big 12 Network where it would have to share the royalties.

And I believed you”
Witness protection, proxy IP’s... it’s not easy but when your country & the A&M fan base is depending on you, a man has to do what a man has to do.

It has now been over 6 years since the launch of Cow TV, and Comcast still has not picked it up.

Texas is the most arrogant and entitled athletic program in world history. Think about that.
Nobody else comes close.

No, just joshing with you bud.
I feel really badly that you think Texas is arrogant.
Need to work on that, but priorities. Got to fix the football situation.
