Oregon are good, I think we can handle them though if we make both make it to the NC game.

I have a funny feeling that Oregon could test Bama to the limit if not outright beat them in the NCG this year.
I think Oregon could take them. I would put money on it.

Not with a month layoff. If it was next week, then maybe.

If ORegon beats Alabama then they could definitley beat all of your teams, so don't feel too good about it.

Minority, not counting wishful thinking.

Yes. Their defense is much improved from years past and their offense is even better. I'd take Oregon to win straight up.
Hasn't this book been written before? Unstoppable force meets immovable object in the national title game? The team with the defense always wins. Hell even Auburn's 2010 defense shut down Oregon. Oregon wins so big in the Pac 12 because they exploit a huge speed mismatch. Against a defense like Alabama, there will be no mismatch to exploit. Oregon also plays such a unique style that a week is not enough time to plan for it. Over a month of planning and practice for a guy like Saban will neutralize this.
Take away the mismatches that are neutralized and at its core Oregon is a small team with pitiful OL and DL play, no goal line power ability, and has a QB who has never had to pass the ball to win before. I think Alabama would win 45-20 or so. Bama is better at every position on the field and would dominate the line of scrimmage with ease.

Transitive property has never and will never work in sports.
Ex: LSU vs Auburn
LSU vs Bama

UA is a very good club, but beatable, as was AU in 10, as Oregon is this year, plus a few other clubs....imo.

Oregon's offense would most certainly test Alabama's defense. Anyone thinking otherwise is foolish.
That said, I think Oregon will end up doing what WVU did to LSU last year - lots of empty yards between the 20s, and unable to score when the field shortens.
Alabama, on the other hand, has a top 20 scoring offense. Oregon gave up over 50 to a team that Stanford held to 14.
I think Alabama would win that matchup, assuming no serious injuries on either side, roughly 38-24.
That said, Texas A&M is our next opponent. They're a great offensive team, who has comparable numbers to Oregon when you take into account competition. I would wager that MSU, for all the grief received here, would be one of the best 3 defenses Oregon would face if they were scheduled.
Alabama is worried about A&M. I'm not putting that one down in my book yet. Admittedly, after that - if we win - we'll go into the SECCG undefeated. Then a tough game against Georgia (well, depending on which UGA team shows up).

i said this the toher day i agree.
oregon could beat bama. they have speed everywhere. their o line is much much better than the one that lsu saw last year or auburn the year before. their QB can actually make plays with his arm and he's pretty smart as well. and they have mamba.
the key to the game would be if Oregon could control the clock and keep bama's o off the field. if they can, they can win. if they can't their offense will work against them and they will get worked
and chip kelly IMHO behind saban is the 2nd best coach in the country. that is not the man you want to give a month to prepare for antyhing.
but it would be a dog fight. anyone using the lsu or auburn game as a a litmps test doesn't know shite about football. everyone knew dixon couldn't beat you with his arm and their o line was pretty shitty. they have a legit QB now and the 2nd best o line in the pac 12 behind usc.

typical Oregon and for that matter non-SEC team. Would not beat Bama because they have not played against a team that acutally plays defense. Bama would smother them, and they would not be able to move the ball consistently, which would throw them way off their game.

Yeah as long as they get to play us. Bama will kill Oregon and everyone else. We haven't had much to be proud about lately, except for our basketball program and our football conference. Go Cats.
