I think others have state that JFF needs to stop taunting and avoid the taunting calls.

I don't think we can expect to see other poor calls, like no calls on late hits on JFF and roughing the passer no calls. We'll just have to see.

The refs were not wrong in flagging JFF for taunting. They should have been flagging the Rice players, but JFF pointed to the scoreboard right in front of the refs. Gets flagged every single time.

TutHillTiger's "This is really a generational thing." was correct, and here's proof (I'm 56).

quote:

a. The NCAA stuff is completely irrelevant to JFF's behavior on Saturday.

No it isn't irrelevant. Not at all. The dummie just put his team and his fans through the ringer with the NCAA. You'd think he'd be smart enough to at least tone it down and not call attention to himself. Whoops! And I honestly don't care what ESPN says, other than the minor annoyance. The first time he could have been penalized for taunting with the air signature I thought, "I did not really just see that, did I? WTF is he thinking???"

quote:

b. It is irrelevant who he was talking shite to. That makes this even MORE of a non-story that ESPN is perpetuating.

Again, no. It was Rice, a perpetually kinda so-so team, mostly bad. And from a team w/o A&M's resources who really have no chance of reaching that level. And he's talking smack to them? (Note that I don't give one shite what Rice players said to him, and neither should he.)

quote:

c. Show me one Aggie that has disagreed with that statement.

Started typing and realized you agreed with c) as far as I can tell, so nevermind. But if you do agree with c) then what is this all about? He clearly should have stfu. What else is there to say?

You're just being dense now. People don't like Manziel, can't you just deal with it? Him taunting doesn't seem out of his character and many think he's arrogant, believe he thinks he's above the coach and team. Tebow doesn't have that history. That's why it doesn't register that way.

And Tebow's was a much more stupid move? How about Manziel pulling off that move after the NCAA was on his case?

I like Manziel but damn, accept that others don't. I would find more issue with him for this shite:

So, Tebow taunted and was flagged. JFF taunted and was flagged, but somehow, JFF is more out of control because he MIGHT get flagged in the future?

If that game was the only thing in the universe that ever happened that reflected negatively on Johnny then you'd have a point. Unfortunately he's got everything that happened in the offseason working against him too.

Remember when John Parker Wilson got the flag for doing the same thing to LSU with the phone gesture..

Dumb move...

The only way it's comparable is if Tebow had been coming off of an NCAA investigation for receiving phone calls from agents. Thus thumbing his nose at officials like jf did.

The acts themselves were pretty much the same. The circumstances are far different though.

You are a huge homer. Just admit that your qb is a pos. look this is how you do it.

TM was a selfish prick that only cared about himself. See how easy it is?

a. I meant that his actions on Saturday had nothing to do with the NCAA. It was not a slap to their face. I would like to hear your explanation as to why it was. It's irrelevant to the NCAA and its investigation. Relevant to the team, yes, but not the NCAA.

b. Why does shite talking to Rice or Middle Tennessee State make a difference? He was taunting and that's it. You sound pretty arrogant in reference to Rice--as if they are somehow unworthy of being taunted.

The fact that they can't see how it's any different is baffling

How was telling Rice players to look at the scoreboard in any way relevant to the NCAA investigation? Why is the NCAA investigation even relevant AT ALL?

Bringing up the NCAA investigation is more evidence that people are simply mad that JFF didn't get more than a 30 minute time out, isn't it? Just admit it. Everybody is mad and arse hurt. That's what it all comes down to.

Because it fits in with his personality of not giving a shite about his coaches and thinking he's above it all. You don't want to accept that the case he was investigated for was represented by his taunting gesture? You agree with your fellow Aggie that Tebow's had far worse repercussion and was dumber than Manziel's taunt?

Cool, don't really see the argument progressing farther than this. We're just copy-pasting the same arguments now.

honestly, no one is BH about that anymore.

everyone is just anxious when JF's antics and arrogance cost him a game or for Sumlin to lose the lockerroom.

the meltdown is looming and the blame fingers will go flying.

No, it's everyone is pissed and brings up the NCAA investigation because they are arse hurt that he only got a 1/2 game suspension and they believe that his on-field antics are somehow related to how he feels about the NCAA investigation, etc.

What really is happening is---everybody's mad. JFF should be humble because he "got away" with murder. They want him to act like a saint now and be thankful that he is playing by taking shite from everybody and asking for seconds. That's what this is REALLY about.

This is what I am trying to say. There are guys with criminal histories out there. They get a fair game on the field.

The off field stuff has no bearing on the field. It didn't with Cam.

Tebow's Taunting was much more blatant and showed the worst leadership possible playing in a night game in Death Valley trying to win Natty.

The phone calls the night before - sorry. If you think so you ride in a short bus.

Again. If they let guys taunt him without calling it quick its gonna be bullshite - fights will start.

If they start calling the Money sign it will be unprecedented. Its not a penalty.
