I'm rooting for MSU, but I need Arky to win. Major internal conflict here.

I can understand a basketball or baseball game that goes extras if you have a game the next day, but football games that go into OT should have minimal effects as long as no one is injured as a result of extra time. You have a full week to get healthy. An extra 10-15 plays isn't going to be that big of deal.

Teams that play the following week after overtime games, do not have a very favorable schedule. Playing that extra time wears players down and they're not as recovered as they may normally be.

Disagree. This game going into OT will have zero effect on next weeks game.

disagree all you want, but history has shown that teams lose more after overtime games. Whether the win or lose the overtime game.

Can you show me a stat for that? I'd like to see how much it does play in.

meh on wearing them down physically. They have a week to recoup. I agree that it becomes a tougher emotional hurdle to overcome when you have to follow it up with another big game the next week though.

It's not going to matter because LSU was also in a battle today. If they blew OM out and coasted the 2nd half, then this thread would not be worthless.
