Were 2011 Bama or LSU good defenses?

I was asked to provide examples of issues on defense.

I’ve provided a number of them.

Not really.

You just said they got outgained yardage wise, which is true, Florida had 40 more yards than LSU. The difference is basically just the last drive.

I blame that more on LSU's offensive struggles than the defense being bad.

Your only other point was a touchdown got called back and that touchdown wouldn't have been scored without the penalty so that point is useless.

If you want to assume you have a championship level defense without vulnerabilities after getting outgained by a team that threw 5 picks and had numerous other big play opportunities coming off a 16 pt offensive night against a USF team that just lost 42-14 to Miami feel free, I’m not here to argue with you as you clearly have your mind made up.

Impossible to say whether they're championship level or not, too early.

Using transitve property is always a low IQ argument.

There should be no rankings for another 3-4 weeks, when there is enough information to use.
Just look at this board after week 1.
Specifically LSU and Bama.
Or even that dumb AP voter last week with UF.

You got outgained while getting 5 turnovers. That’s almost impossible to pull off.

There were receivers open as I outlined.

But I pointed out the defense gets credit for the takeaways as well.

My only point that I made and that you continue to attack is that there are vulnerabilities on defense that better offenses could potentially take advantage of. The data supports my conclusion. Doesn’t mean they won’t improve.

Looking at how teams perform against other teams relative to how other teams performed against them is the exact methodology that FEI and SP+ use to rank teams and it has been one of the best predictors of games against the spread over the last 10+ years.

Over one game it’s a data point. Over a season it’s an extremely accurate way of describing how good a team is relative to other teams.

Based on your "analysis", every team has fundamental issues on both sides of the ball.

Wait and see. They beat a horrible Va tech and then beat us, the most horribly coached and ill-prepared team in all of D-1. If they a play a legit SEC foe whose players don't quit like Beamers "family" did, then we will see. Big time college football aint family Shane, it's business.

Great thing about the SEC this year. Almost every team could lose on the road to any other SEC team.

Should LSU be #3?

Settle down, Sugar Tits. It’ll all come out in the wash. No sense in wasting your posting gold on a non worthy question.

Are you predicting Vandy to beat LSU? If not, you may want to sit this one out.

Then Vandy should be ranked ahead of whoever they would be favored to beat. Simple enough.

No, that’s stupid.

You watched 22 personnel for another schools team in under 24 hours from the game happening?

Vandy is an underrated team.

LSU hasn’t played 2 teams as shitty as South Carolina and VT. Had to call Vandy underrated.
