If 13-14 qualifies for you, then you are probably right

Would not be shocked if it's UK and Auburn in Final 4
Smith and Kessler will make sure Auburn is in every game.
UK with healthy Ty Ty and Wheeler will be tough on anyone.

Yeah. I do not want to see them again, and we could see 'em twice.

(a) I said "very good", which differentiates from good. You'll be solid NCAA-T good next year. You won't be "this team can win the national title" good.

(b) You weren't good at all last year

In all honesty that would be very Auburn of us. I still remember the gut punch when we lost in the Sweet 16 to
Ohio State in 99. That Auburn team was dominant and started the season something like 23-1.

That AU team did a lot of things really well, especially in transition, but were not as good in the half court. They were vulnerable to teams with great guard play who protected the ball and kept them from running, as UK and tOSU showed. This team has fewer weaknesses, I think. They seem more well-rounded, but that's no guarantee. The team that went to the Final 4 was pretty good and they barely escaped a solid New Mexico State team.

It actually has a lot more, IMO. This team has a better starting five and much more quality depth. We can win with Kessler on the bench most of the game (first bama game, on the road) and we can win when Jabari has an off night. This is easily the best team Pearl has had at Auburn. Every player on the floor is a weapon......no matter who and how deep off the bench we go.

And they'll abandon it just as quick once this little run is over.

The bench is deep and the two transfers have been huge contributors. They should be favorite to win the whole damn thing.

I do think that the other pieces fit more in line with a usual Pearl team, the ones he's had since he's been at Auburn, which are high energy with disruptive defense.

I think what separates this team is that addition of a truly just complete basketball player, an NBA ready guy. Having that guy on your team frees up so much of everything else. But that's just my take on it.

Now you've completely spun this into a totally different conversation to try to win an argument. You lose.

Jabari does require a lot of attention. He is unselfish also. Double him and he knows somebody has to be open and he looks for him. Kessler just closes down the paint. The pick-and-roll with him is a thing of beauty. Kessler is an athletic big and we haven't had that at Auburn under Pearl.

The Tourney is a strange beast. It takes one bad officiated game or just a bad performance from the team and your season is over. Being good isn't good enough that time of year.

I was in the stands during the Shula years, and we were sold out. Stop being the typical Auburn fan who makes shite up.

We sold out our stadium through the absolute bottom barrel decade of embarrassment and bad football teams. So much so that we expanded it. TWICE.

You may have been. I have told this story many times......

I didn't grow up in Alabama. We would go to family reunions twice a year around B'ham. During the 70's and 80's, four of every six vehicles would have something bama on them. I stopped going to family reunions for about a decade. My Grandma passed away and I went to her funeral. That was at the end of the Shula years. All of the bama stuff on vehicles had disappeared, in the State, not just around B'ham. It was like the vast majority of bama fans had moved out of the State. I saw this with my own eyes...........so your recollection is absolute bullshite.

I mean that's just laughably false and absurd, sorry. No other way to put it.

Alabama stuff disappeared across the state in the early/mid 2000s..........
