Left out Oklahoma and Tennessee...many reasons for the loser obnoxious programs to be in top 10...but big ones are those horrible, inane, repitious songsBoomer Sooner and Rocky Top. The drooling idiots play them incessantly until you want to slit your own throat or do a suicide bombing sacrifice amid their band.

I'm not sure I'd call Chicago a Big Ten town, it's a Notre Dame town if anything. NW tries to claim it but they're seen as too uppity and Illinois is too bad and too far away.

Here's an article kind of explaining the situation. LINK

To Vecchio Cane's point about going to a "Big 10 City" I'm not sure that there really is one. The Big Ten doesn't have an Atlanta where you get a mixing pot of schools, at least not to the degree that Atlanta does. Most of the large Midwestern cities are going to be more or less in the pot for one particular school more than they are in the South.

They can't get enough because all their students are from the North East.

Yep they have some of the same issues Vanderbilt has with Nashville.

I guess I have to go to other college towns, not big cities. Boston doesn't care, Chicago didn't either. But don't tell me we hate the Big 12 or Big10 in our college towns.

Unfortunately you have to go places like Cincinnati/Dayton, or Tulsa, or Ames.

On second thought, that sounds terribly not worth the effort

Real metro areas like Chicago and Boston have their own identities. They don't need a college team to bring them together

Which begs the question: Where is UGA?

You missed it. Along with A&M, they were in the "Top 10 most underachieving douchiest fanbase" article.

More than an SEC town? Sure. But it is not the Big Ten's version of Atlanta.

Atlanta is an SEC town, then a Braves town, then a Falcons town.

Chicago is Bears, Cubs, Notre Dame, then Big Ten.

Ok I'll defer to you on Cleveland. I've never been there and never want to go there.

Exactly.
And Cleveland would prefer to be an NFL city, but the Buckeyes are their only shot at football success so they embrace Ohio St.

Even though the Browns stink I feel like the Indians and Cavs take precedent over any Big Ten football team.

Guess you can say Madison Wisconsin is a big ten city?
It's the capital of Wisconsin?
But I mean it's a college town.

I sense desperation from auburn fans in this thread. They want to be the villain so bad after the whole Cam deal and nick fairley. But at the end of the day nobody cares about them

It isn't though. It's wholly a UW town. You don't find Penn State fans in Madison. You go there and you'll get the opinions of Wisconsin fans, not the larger Big Ten opinion. Imagine Columbia but without the few Taters and Georgia fans, that's Madison.
