There will be some sort of football this fall. May not be fans or very little fans, but it will happen. There's way too much money involved for it not to.

What will happen is players will inevitably get it. Similar to the NBA, the players can opt-out if they choose to and probably retain a year of eligibility if they so choose.

What will also inevitably happen is Saban will be gun-ho about starting the season. At some point he will get it and not recover quick enough and claim that the season be canceled after Bama drops a couple of games due to his absence.

And we'll probably have a champion from left field that no one foresaw because their players avoided being out for any part of the season due to the virus.

It's going to be an odd year.

Infections? Perhaps. Deaths? Not a chance. None of those states sentenced nursing home patients to death, and they certainly won't reverse course on that front. NY will be per capita death capital of the world. Lofty title.

MLB will be 5 weeks into their season prior to opening day KO

Power 5 schools are not giving up their TV money

Masks and limited seating may be part of the dog and pony show, but there will be football

The players and staff of CFB are 0.3% of the 0.3%

Just wait and see how important Covid is come the 2nd week of Nov. LOL

almost convinced it won't happen as well. Or if it does, there's almost no way teams will be fielding full rosters from week to week. The 2 deep would be constantly changing.

Honestly this would make it fun imo

Believe what you want to believe. Football is happening. Clutch your pearls and go virtue signal about how a bunch of 20 year olds are in danger of dying from the flu if you must. Football is happening, despite what your left wing Nutt jobs on tv are telling you.

^ This one gets it.

Football is happening and for the following reasons.

1) The virus is mostly producing asymptomatic results. My biz partner got it two weeks ago and felt nothing.

2) Billions will be lost to each P5 school with out it.

3) If this weren't an election year Dems would be treating like the Flu, which they should because its actually less deadly. Numbers don't like.

126,000 have died with an average age of 79.9 in the last 4 months with Covid. The country has 350,000,000 population btw.

October is the start of Flu season, bet you they try to piggyback people getting the flu and calling it Covid and will try to make it seem like 50,000,000 have it. Thats how many people get the flu each year.

So, dumbshits who want to sit out 2020, do it...no one is stopping you. Wait until 2021 if you feel safer, but don't try to impose shite on others who don't.

Trump, and the moronic followers who deny the pandemic, killed many thousands of citizens, trashed our economy and robbed us of sports. We might try to have a season but, if so, it will end in disaster before November.

WINNING!

Will the coaches that are older such as Nick Saban & Kevin Steele be coaching from their living room?

If you think a virus that kills virtually no one in the age bracket of the contestants of a football game is going to prevent the season from happening you are too stupid to have a conversation with. Mark whatever you want.

If even one football player or coach (which is an old demographic) dies, it will be a disaster. That is a big deterrent.

Is it a disaster when 1 player died from a hit that breaks their neck? There is a better chance of that happening than them dying from COVID. This is beyond ridiculous. No one is making these people play or coach.

There are people in this very thread who still don’t get it.

If we try to start in August it will be a disaster. Our only hope is for Florida and Texas to get their shite together so we can maybe have an abridged, conference-only season.

Texas and Fl governors are not known for their brains though...

Would rather just not play and wait until Fall 2021. We'll just keep recruiting at a high level and stocking up with talent for whenever the next season is.

A college kid has a better chance of getting hit by lightning in his lifetime than dying or even going to the hospital for this

At some point let the kids live their life. Its not like they can go back and do this when they are 33.

The sacrifice some people are making for people that have already lived a full life where they have gotten to reap the rewards for everything this country can offer just doesnt equate

Why are we stunting educational, athletic, career and quality of life growth for people who have almost no risk for this?

It would be an ethical and possibly legal disaster.

University leaders aren’t random forum posters. They are responsible for their decisions, and you don’t just ignore the information out there and expert recommendations flippantly.

What’s ethically wrong

I hope everyone understands that people will die from this until the end of time. Just like the flu. We have to learn to live with it I find it funny that everything thinks at some point in time this will be magically gone. Let’s not do anything for x months than everything will be fine after that. Please pay me though

Being a coach isn’t jail. If you don’t think the risk reward is worth it than quit. It’s actually pretty simple Life needs to go on.

There is a potential risk to the community. That risk is ethically significant.
College football isn’t a necessity, and it isn’t a core facet of universitys’ missions.
