I personally don't want to be number ranked #1 in the preseason poll. Since 2000 only 2 preseason #1's have won the national championship (USC 2004 and Alabama 2017).

Georgia won't be undefeated coming to Texas.
UGA has not lost a football game to anyone not named Alabama in 1375 days. UGA has played 43 football games in that time period. The most likely chance that UGA does not show up in Austin will be 47 days from today when UGA goes to Tuscaloosa. UGA will have gone 1422 days without losing to anyone not named Alabama by that time. Mathematically it is almost illogical to think UGA makes it through the UT game without a loss...yet it is entirely possible and in fact UGA will be favored iin Tuscaloosa and Austin...and that is why UGA is #1 because, as impractical as it is to go 45 months and only lose twice, to the same team. UGA has, to date, done just that. 3.75 years since UGA has lost to anyone other than Alabama or lost a game during the regular season.

UGA does let the off-season drama effect them. The worst punishment is a drivers Ed class and in all honesty it’s likely the only time they see a classroom at UGA for many of them.

Our guys started getting driving tickets during the 2022 season. Uga has gone 28-1 during this time period.

Before UGA got NIL and supersonic muscle cars they were getting tickets for driving scooters without helmets. Money changes everything.
Other programs are dealing with far worse issues than speeding tickets. When a UGA player commits a violent crime they are dismissed. At AU, LSU, etc, they play. Team votes, second, third and fourth chances, excuse making, and ignoring the whole dang thing are their way of dealing with these pesky problems.
