But your defense is the best.

I would have expected our not as good defense to not drive you back 20 yards in overtime.

These two alone are enough period

That would be good if it were a requirement. However it's not. So maybe you should start a letter writing campaign to the BCS.

And twice more in the game, which is three times more than Alabama.

I would have expected our not so good offense to not get as many penalties either but such is football.

Some of them WILL say it. But I know what you mean, I spent an hour trying to get Elleshoe to admit that if voters put Alabama at anything lower than 4th in their polls just to avoid a rematch that it would be a screw job. He was pretty convinced that it wouldn't be a screw job. Whatever, it was a fun argument.

How is it fair that we have to beat you twice to win the NC but you only have to beat us once?
It's fair that you have to win the BCSCG to be champion, no matter the opponent. Regardless of who you play, you still have to win the game. The question is, do LSU fans really want "fair" and play us who appears to be the clear #2 team, or does LSU want to have an easier road to winning the game. You, me, the media, all know that the #2 team right now is Alabama. Your argument, and the argument of other posters, regardless if it's true or not, makes you seem scared to play us again. Not saying you are but do you want to play the #2 team or not?

The goal prior to the beginning of the season is to win the BCSCG on 01/09/12.

which meant winning on 11/05/11. Both teams knew they would be championship contenders and would have to get through each other to get to New Orleans. LSU went to Tuscaloosa and won. Alabama couldn't win on their own turf knowing they needed a win to likely go to the BCSCG. frick em.

So our D didn't require yall to hold and we also didn't sack you on 3rd down?

Lighten up on arty. Bama did not lose. They just scored less points and ran out of time. It happens to all of us.

Look up context and reading comprehension so you'll know what those words mean.

total defense rankings, in context...total offense rankings of opponents played (minus FCS schools)

LSU - 8, 13, 32, 87, 91, 93, 98, 101, 114, 118
Bama - 21, 75, 87, 89, 91, 98, 102, 103, 114, 119

Or that OSU will have a better resume than Alabama at the end of the year.

Look, I really don't care who we play, but Alabama fans are delusional if they think that they are currently #2 because of anything other than perception.

and what's bad about perception is that its driven by the media which in this case is ESPN, and that can be flipped in the drop of a hat.

You had your chance. You had home field advantage. You had this mythotical running back who was unstoppable (TR is the best RB in the country I will admit.) You had the best defense(in your eyes). You had all the so called advantages and yet you lost. You lost with everything against LSU (In most peoples' eyes). So no matter what you say, the fact that you have not won your division let alone your conference and someone else has should give them the chance to play in the game. This doesn't matter if Bama is actually the second best team in the nation (which they are). A conference champion with one loss and the highest BCS ranking deserves that chance whoever it may be. Even though I would be pissed if it were Boise or Houston that is the way it is suppose to go. Just saying.

I agree with the first half of your post but the second half of the post is immaterial because until there are rules specifically against a team not winning its conference (or division for that matter) being able to play in the BCS title game then it's a moot point.

I know the scenario this year involves my team but I feel strongly about this regardless of what teams are involved. For example, if we ever go to an 8 team playoff it has to involve AT LEAST 2 or 3 at large bids to teams that didn't win their conference to be legitimate. This season is a great reason why. There's no legit reason that teams like Stanford, Alabama, or Arkansas shouldn't be a part of an 8 team playoff with LSU, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Virginia Tech, and Michigan State (assuming the Big East is out of it). The conference winner only playoff is VERY VERY bad for college football imho.

You also claimed your offense was better than ours. So your better offense against our worse defense should have made OT easy for yall.

Again, so what? Does that make us any less of an opponent? What if we were in the Big East? ACC? I thought the idea was to play #1 vs #2? I can't help that the 3 best teams in America just happen to be in the SEC West.

Under the BCS, it would be.

Do you really want to use the period before the BCS, with all of its incredibly flaws, to argue your point?

Well who's to say you are the number 2 ranked BCS team (In the BCS' eyes). What if VT wins out and they win their conference. Would you agree with them jumping you? They would have won their conference when you didn't. Auburn should have gone in '04. So just because you are the better team then VT they will go in your place? Is that fair?

No, they lost to ISU. That trumps anything else in my opinion. I'd be saying the same thing about the Tide had we lost to Tenn. That, just like the ISU loss, would have been inexcusable. Period.
