Bama goal line stand "forced" LSU to kick a FG in OT? On third down? For real?

dude, you've lost it...if Michael Ford would have cut his pinky toenail before the game he'd have scored a 23 yard touchdown, untouched. We then ran one quick hitter to the fullback and one play to center the ball. The FG was on third down.

IMO College Football labors under the lose and you're out assumption. There are 120 teams and teams play 12 regular season games. That's just over 10 percent. Teams are vastly different from each other.

Compared to pro sports and even basketball, the scope of the season differs drastically.

If you lose to one team, you should not get a rematch unless there are far and away not other alternatives. Virginia Tech, should they win out would also have one loss an they avenged that loss by the design of the conference. OSU if they win out woudl also be a 1 loss conference champ.

Neither OSU or VT have had a shot at LSU. Bama did, at home and failed.

LSU Total Yards: 239
Alabama Total Yards: 295

Score: LSU 9, Alabama 6

The only stat that matters.

Wtf is all this "unfair" bull shite from LSU fans? LSU has to play the two games they have no matter what. Even if they play frickin Florida Gulf Coast in the NCG. STOP BITCHING ABOUT THAT. This is about the #2 spot in the BCS. It's about Alabama and OSU and a few others. STFU and keep kicking arse and being awesome. This shite is not about you and y'alls feelings don't matter.

Thank you. I've tried to get this point across in nicer terms but LSU can't understand that finding #2 has nothing to do with them. The LSU/Bama game was AT THAT TIME a de-facto play in game UNTIL Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Stanford s### the bed the last 2 weeks opening the door for the LSU/Alabama loser to get back in the driver's seat. I honestly don't know why this is so hard to grasp.

LSU record - 11-0
Bama record - 10-1

How are those stats working for you now?

Seriously, look at who you played and who we played before you start lathering yourself up for a stat shower.

"Goal line stand" means you stopped a team, not held them to a field goal. LSU didn't have a goal line stand either; Bama never got close in OT.

Bama stopped them from making a touchdown after the corndogs thought they had already scored one.

How many moral victories are you planning on taking from this game?

Great point. Alabama is deserves to be the #2 team and play in the championship, regardless of who is #1.

Based on what?

Yeah, because it is so much more important to lose by three points at home rather than six.

regardless of the teams, don't you agree that, in this case, losing the head to head matchup could actually be a benefit? I think that is my main issue with this...not having to play the same team twice.

No, because if it wasn't for some very wild, impossible to predict crazy upsets the loser of the LSU/Bama game was screwed so far as getting back into a relatively comfortable spot to get back to the national title game. No less than Oklahoma State losing, Oklahoma losing twice, Oregon losing, and Stanford losing would have done the Nov 5th loser any good. It took fluky luck benefitting Alabama and I guess crappy luck (given how LSU fans are upset at the circumstances) for LSU to things to come together like this.

It's not Alabama's fault that no other team is doing a very good job asserting itself as number 2. Alabama is where they deserve to be. LSU is where they deserve to be. There are a lot of things not right about playing a team you already proved you are better than in their home stadium. A team who will most likely not play for the conference championship. But this is the system and worthier teams are getting harder and harder to find.

As a famous All American Alabama Kick Return Specialist Forrest Gump once said ...........
"My Mama always said you've got to put the past behind you before you can move on"
LSU 9 Alabama 6

Seriously look at who you played. Describe to me the world of difference. You get to redeem yourself on Friday. Better hope Wilson doesn't get hot.
