Tennessee needed OT against an Appalachian State team that went 11-2 last season.

Arkansas beat a Louisiana Tech team by 1 that had 9 wins the previous 2 seasons.

Florida beat UMASS 24-7. UMass went 3-9 last season. They allowed 20 points or fewer 6 times (Florida International, Kent State, Ball St., Akron, Eastern Michigan)

UMASS was picked 127th out of 128 teams in a poll of all FBS teams. Florida has ridiculous problems on offense and they're gradually losing the defensive players that Muschamp put into place. I think it will be a long season for Florida.

Florida's win was never in question unlike a lot of other teams

One does sometimes get the feeling that their survive-and-advance, survive-and-advance approach will end up exactly like the coyote finally realizing he's been running in mid-air.

There was also a torrential down pour during the first half but whatever.

Offense didn't make anyone happy but the game was never in doubt.

But tell yourself whatever you need to in order to feel better about the season.

It was a 10-7 game in the 4th quarter. I'd say there were some questions

When you have a 3 point lead to start the 4th quarter? Yeah, it kinda was.

Edit: one of my friends living near Boston called me yesterday about that game. She doesn't watch football, but her daughter -- who's waaaay too young to be gambling -- won a nice chunk of money on the spread.

Can we all agree that we all looked like shite, but got the only thing that matters, the win?

Why do arky fans feel the need to talk so much smack to UF and UT? It really is funny considering the nail biter they had.

I don't know about the rest of my bretheren, but besides being super annoyed about the low score, I never thought UF was going to lose. Florida just finally took its head out of its arse in the 4th quarter.

We allowed a 15 point comeback in the 4th to send the game to OT against a VERY average UCLA team. Ugly UGLY win.

We will be lucky to win 5 more.

I won't tell you how to think, but given your offensive woes last season, it seems really reasonable to wonder if a lucky touchdown (your defense is great, but even the best defense can slip with one missed assignment) could push them past you and you wouldn't be able to put together a TD drive of your own before the clock ran out.

No. I will not agree to that.

And for the opposite reason, neither will Mississippi State, Missouri, or LSU.

No AggieDub Killean went brain dead for a minute and did not think things through. No matter how you spin we should be ashamed. But it is a typical Bielema start. These guys will be better than last season though. Could even be a lot better.

Florida looked like shite no question - but I will tell you that it was a weird game to watch - in the sense that I was bored out of my mind. The TD that UMASS did get was farily fluky - Florida gave them 40 yards of penalties on one drive.

But really, UMASS was so bad they never felt like a threat.

I could have been deluded, 100% possible I admit, but I was never worried.

That obviously wasn't directed at Bama, or any of the teams that lost

Arky will be fine. If history tells us anything, September means nothing for Bert.
