I'm not a big military guy to say the least. But I wasn't flaming in that OT post like I do here. I actually believe what I said.
Only problem I had with what you said was that it didn't seem like you respected the military. You don't have to bow down to them and kiss their arse like you were saying, but they do deserve respect for fighting for our country. Just my two cents on the matter.

Wow, what a concept. Did he invent that? What does he call it, the 24 hour rule? I bet no coach in the history of organized sports has ever thought of that.

Again, the guy is just driven to succeed and there are very few of them like that in the world. Most that are that driven are millionaires too.
you are right, but it is the 18-22 yr old kids who may not be able to handle his drive and the personality that comes with it. i say it could be a problem like I think it has before to an extent. I'm not making predictions about how his tenure at Bama will end up, but it is possible that the great time everyone is sharing in at the Capstone won't last forever.

Perhaps they'd feel more at home in Detroit after the graduate, they like to expect benefits without alot of hard work.
That's a shitty shot at the UAW. Ya think they don't work hard? Did your domestic 4x4 pick up fall apart on you or something? The workers who only represent 10% of the cost of a vehicle should give back money while the men who failed in their jobs as managers and CEOs make out like bandits? That's arse backwards if you ask me. Why not take shots at the foreign AM's who price their cars higher than domestic vehicles even though they benefit from not paying labor as much as the Big 3 does? Oh, that's right you live in a Japanese/foreign automaker state. Go ahead, be happy that the Japanese Auotomakers don't pay the people of your state enough. Why don't we talk about why the brokers and agents of the big financial institutions should make concessions for a company that failed. Wrong board, so i'll not ask for a response.

Agreed! Enjoy it while it lasts. The landscape of College football has changed. It is unlikely that Bama will enjoy the unprecedented success of distant decades again. If you do, Congrats (LSU fans can read that as a BIG F. U.). If not, enjoy it while it lasts.
LSU fans, lets enjoy the unprecedented success of the immediately past decade and strive to continue/improve upon it.
We can begin by hiring Chavis, ASAP.

The fact that all of these Alabama fans come out of the woodworks after 1 frickING YEAR! Holy Jesus why don't all you Rammer Jammers eat a big pack of dicks. Saban's a good coach yes but not a savior. Thank your stars for the Late Great Paul Bryant and blow the rest out of your arse!!

Are you trying to convince a fanbase of a school / team with a glorious history (perhaps the best in college football, ever) to NOT have pride and glean happiness from that history?
I don't get the point of the thread. We, LSU fans, are appropriately proud of our program and its recent success especially.
I would rather have the Bama fans wearing hats, shirts, etc and proclaiming their pride and positive expectations than to take some phony "aw, shucks" attitude toward their team.
Where is the fun in a game / rivalry without the passion and pride from BOTH sides???
That says it all from my point of view.

That is the best post I've ever read on any message board.
History matters. [At Alabama] it supports and promotes excellence. Alabama has a rich legacy of championship football and a proud heritage that is revered and beloved by it's fanbase. Nothing can erase those values from the expectations of an Alabama fan.

none of which was attacked in my original post.

"Since the SMU case, the closest that the NCAA has come to imposing the "death penalty" against a football program was against the University of Alabama in 2002"
With that said, LSU is considered anywhere from Top 10 to Top 13 All Time Program from the 3 Web sites that rank ATPs. Alabama averages 6.9 wins a season, LSU 6.1. You could almost put an asterick on close to 250 of Alabama's 809 wins while LSU's 700+ wins are never in questioned.
While Alabama's football tradition is scarred with "major infractions and violations", LSU's proud football tradition IS NOT.
Not only that, LSU's tradition goes beyond wins and championships. LSU's All-Time Attendance is among the nation's best, far better than Bama's. LSU's tailgating and gameday atmosphere...top notch. LSU's band....winners of the only two national competition known of.
LSU is the 1st team from the South recognized as National Champions (1908) and the last one as well (2007).
LSU currently has the #1 recruiting class in football.
Also in the "better than you" argument. LSU has more "Total" National Champions than any school in the SEC. Not only is LSU going to be contending for a NC in football in 2009, LSU is preseason #1 in baseball.
LSU is only 1 of 2 schools that can claim Top 10 All-Time Football Program and Top 5 All Sports Program (40+ NCs).
