I didn't disagree with the traits you mentioned.
The google machine just also says that they can be dominant and protective, which can go poorly with enthusiasm and strength.
ETA: Being a good family dog doesn't equate to being a good mascot dog.

My brother had one and my uncle "imported" a couple of them from Germany after he was stationed there with the Army.
They're cool dogs too. Heck all dogs are cool.
